Description
OurHouse stands out as the top-rated software within the Greek community, featuring a comprehensive native mobile application that aims to consolidate various disjointed tools such as Facebook groups, GroupMe, manual attendance tracking, emails, and mass texting. Created by a group of experienced former executive council members, it enhances both communication and operational efficiency for fraternities and sororities by offering an array of features, including detailed calendar layouts with tailored events, geolocation for attendance tracking, excuses, appeals, and point systems. The application also boasts secure in-app group messaging and direct messaging capabilities to streamline chapter communications, alongside document and folder sharing to facilitate the management of resources at both HQ and chapter levels, as well as tracking study and service hours complete with customizable goals and locations, officer reviews, and appeals processes. Moreover, it provides additional tools such as weekly meal menus that allow for late plate requests and chef ratings, along with instant or scheduled push notifications for important announcements and updates from both HQ and officers. Real-time polling and voting options further enhance engagement within the community, ensuring that members can actively participate and voice their opinions. This comprehensive suite of features establishes OurHouse as an indispensable tool for modern Greek life.
Description
The team at the Office of School Support is dedicated to enhancing school attendance across the entire district. When students miss classes, it becomes challenging for them to be adequately prepared and engaged in their education. Higher attendance rates are linked to better academic performance and improved graduation statistics. The attendance team collaborates with schools, students, families, and partners from Ramsey County to take proactive measures when attendance issues first arise. It is crucial that parents or guardians inform the school each time their child is absent, as not all absences will be considered excused. To report an absence, it is necessary to either call the main office or submit a note detailing the reason for the absence in a clear manner. The process for attendance support within SPPS consists of three stages, becoming increasingly serious if a student continues to miss school. After a student accumulates three unexcused absences, an alert letter regarding attendance is sent home to the parents. Should the student incur further absences without a valid excuse, the school will initiate the intervention procedure, emphasizing the importance of consistent attendance and the collaborative effort to support every student's educational journey.
