Description
Customers can initiate a tech support session conveniently by either downloading a lightweight application or simply clicking an icon on their desktop, eliminating the need for prior installation. This allows you to gain immediate access to their computer. Once the remote support session concludes, future access is only possible with their explicit invitation, ensuring that your clients enjoy maximum privacy and reassurance. If you happen to be unavailable, customers have the option to set a 12-hour window during which you can connect while the computer remains unattended. Furthermore, you can receive a text message alerting you when a customer is ready for assistance. By selecting a customer from a list, you can access their computer at any time, provided you obtain one-time permission for unattended remote access. This arrangement allows for repeated access as needed. Additionally, customers can leave messages, request to be connected to another team member, or even automatically connect you when you log in. You will be able to view and control your customer’s computer just as if you were sitting right in front of it, creating a seamless support experience. This level of accessibility and flexibility significantly enhances the efficiency of your tech support services.
Description
SecureDesk is a self-hosted platform aimed at remote support and device management specifically for Windows systems, ensuring that the user's own infrastructure handles all interactions without relying on external cloud services. It features two modes of connection: attended sessions, which provide real-time assistance with the end user's approval, and unattended access for managing devices that do not have staff present, like servers or kiosks. Additionally, for more complex troubleshooting needs, technicians can access a SYSTEM-level shell to execute administrative commands directly on the device. Central to its architecture is a robust encryption model; both the technician's console and the remote device independently create their own AES-256-GCM encryption keys, with connections initiated solely from the endpoints. The self-hosted relay that facilitates each session only transmits encrypted data and does not possess any keys, ensuring that even the operator of the relay cannot decrypt or view the content of the sessions. This design not only enhances security but also provides peace of mind to users who prioritize data protection during remote interactions.
