Description
Galène, also known as Galene, serves as a user-friendly videoconference server, categorized as an SFU, that requires a moderate amount of server resources for deployment. Initially created for educational purposes such as lectures, seminars, and tutorials, it has proven to be effective for standard business meetings as well. This platform has been successfully utilized at prominent institutions like Université de Paris and Sorbonne Université, facilitating various academic activities including lectures, practical sessions, and staff gatherings, in addition to hosting two significant conferences, SOCS'2020 and JFLA'2021. Built using Go, Galène employs the Pion implementation of WebRTC on the server side, which has been rigorously tested on Linux systems, specifically amd64 and arm64 architectures, while also demonstrating compatibility with Linux armv7, mips (OpenWRT), and even Windows operating systems. Additionally, it is expected to be adaptable to other platforms, including Mac OS X, enhancing its versatility for users. The default client is designed in Javascript, ensuring functionality across the latest versions of major web browsers on both mobile and desktop devices, although users should refer to the FAQ for specifics regarding compatibility issues with certain browsers.
Description
OpenText™ Exceed™ serves as a remote access solution tailored for Windows users who need to run graphically intensive Linux and UNIX applications, such as those used in CAD and CAM environments. By seamlessly integrating the Windows desktop experience with various operating systems, including UNIX, Linux, VMS, and IBM iSeries and z/OS, Exceed enhances usability. This high-performance X Window server ensures secure and dependable access to X Window applications from Microsoft Windows machines and Citrix virtual desktops over local area networks. Many software solutions in fields like engineering, architecture, and product design rely on Linux and UNIX platforms, which leverage the Linux X Window (X11) graphics technology. With Exceed, a Windows X Server allows these graphical UNIX and X11 applications to operate on standard Microsoft Windows systems, avoiding the need for expensive high-end graphical workstations. To effectively utilize this demanding software from a Windows environment, organizations need robust remote access solutions that facilitate efficient LAN connectivity. Thus, Exceed not only streamlines the workflow but also helps companies optimize their resources.
