Galene Description
Galene is a videoconferencing server (an SFU) that is easy-to-deploy and requires only moderate server resources. It was designed originally for lectures, conferences, and student tutorials. However, it is also useful for regular meetings.
Galene was used to produce lectures, practicals and seminars at two major universities, Universite de Paris (Universite de Paris) and Sorbonne Universite (Universite de Paris). It was also used for staff meetings. It was used to host two conferences, SOCS'2020 and JFLA’2021.
Galene's server is implemented in Go and uses Pion's implementation of WebRTC. The server is regularly run on Linux/amd64, Linux/arm64, Linux/armv7, Linux/mips and Windows. It should be portable to any other system, including Mac OS X. The default client, implemented in Javascript, works on all major web browsers on desktop and mobile, including the latest versions.
