Is falsehood compassionate?

Comments Filter:
  • Something you just gotta live with. If you spend all your time abusing people for lack of conformity, you shouldn't be surprised when they bite back. How simple can it be? They wouldn't be flipping you* the bird with all the flamboyance if you showed simple respect instead of sneering at them with all that arrogance of 'moral' superiority. Sorry, your 'wounds' are self inflicted. The 'monster' is your creation. The 'lihad' is from your provocation. The tighter you squeeze, the crazier it will get. Your obse

    • So? The repression and abuse were wrong, but so is indulging in the fantasy and lying to people, which is what is happening from the left. Not very compassionate at all- if anything the lies are a form of abuse.

      • Still, it's a natural reaction to power. Right or wrong, discretion goes out the window when the power becomes arrogant and abusive. Respect for authority demands respect from authority.

      • You can respect individual sovereignty without becoming an enabler. If a boy in school says he's a girl, well, he'll be addressed by whatever his legal name is, but no way he gets to use the girls' restroom. You have the right to decide anything for yourself, but you have no right to impose it on me. Compassion is letting people do what they want (with few exceptions). Compassion isn't turning the society upside-down bending over to people with select oddities.

It goes back to the individualist vs. col
        • "I don't act my age, and when I don't act my age, I don't have to deal with the reality that is my past."

That is SO dysfunctional. Unfortunately, when the LGB came out with the word "transgender" (no, it wasn't either transsexuals or the medical community who invented it) in an attempt to normalize fetishes such as cross-dressing by association with transsexuals, they crossed the line between science and fiction.

A drag queen has no more legal right to be in a woman's washroom than any other man, even if "

          • I didn't follow any of that. Then again, I don't navel gaze at my genitals and who I'm attracted to and make a life cause out of it.

In general, the Left's (multitudinous) categorizations of people is wrong and I don't think or talk in those terms.
    • The typical utter bullcrap anyone would expect from fusta. Some weirdo abandons his familial responsibilities and life's normal pressures to act like a 6-year-old, and fusta bends over and flaps his ass checks and toots out some canned garbage about evil church-goers repressing the perverts (and spending *all* their time at it, no less... evidently not needing to work or raise children or anything) and so now we have to accept it. Ya, that makes any kind of sense. Anyone: There's world hunger. Fusta: It
      • :-) All just another rant of the Angry White Man.

Just make sure the "6 year old girl" is paying child support/alimony and treat it like any other divorce. Let the National Inquirer deal with the details. Now, let's make it interesting, you think he can sue his ex for child molestation? I mean, like, where's the consent? Hey, six counts, at least, right? Lock her up!

        • There's where you're wrong. I am angry, at where my country has gone. But it's not just a rant. If you understood Righties, you'd know we don't throw insults around without really meaning it, like you guys do (e.g. "racist!!!").

And why do you assume the man should pay in a divorce? Sexist pig. Tons of women have successful careers and are well-paid. Supposedly the devastating unemployment of the Great Recession hit men much harder. Maybe she's making enough where *her* alimony to *him* more than take

          • Sorry, man, I hope you don't expect me to take the rant (yes, you are ranting, or pretending) seriously. I just can't. It's too silly. Give us some new material. We already did the Angry White Man thing 20 years ago during Clinton. Yeah, the act still sells, but soon people are going to change the channel. The demographics they are a changin'. Fear not, being equal will not reduce your rations. The empire will stand tall. And you are still free to entertain us, kind of a combo Ted Nugent/Redd Foxx/Archie Bu

            • The Empire has already failed. Material wealth is not the purpose of life.

              • That's right it's not. Life is its own purpose. "Empire" is just animals acting out. Let's not forget what we are. And let's not forget we have a choice.

                • If we are just animals, then we have no chance. We'd be better off dead.

                  • We are animals, but we do have the choice to stop acting like them. And either way, we are not better off dead. The other animals don't "believe" so, or they wouldn't be here with us. Being "dead" is not even possible. To be is to be alive. In that regard we truly do have no choice.

                    • If we are animals, then our "choice" is nothing but illusion, dictated by instinct and chemistry.

Only if we are human- something more than animal, body and soul together- do we have "choice" and free will.

I still contend the man without choice- is better off dead.

                    • No more illusionary than your deity, if it was real, there would be no argument. Simple rules of evidence apply... Reality is perception... It doesn't matter if choice is an illusion, out of instinct and chemistry emerges consciousness, or "soul" as you like to put it. We are animals with soul. rhythm, and blues. The music you make is your choice. Stop living in denial.

                    • Only a miracle wroght by God- granting the human species souls- can create free will. Without souls, all you are is animal instinct- perception doesn't matter thouogth doesn't matter, rhythm and blues dosn't matter, music doesn't matter. It is all only chemestry.

Especially you, it is clear that your politics and so-called choices are just slavery to your addictions.

                    • That's nature for ya. I see no need to apply human attributes to it. Religion is your addiction. You are a slave to it.

                    • You are the one unable to make a choice that would endanger your supply.

                    • I'm sorry, I don't even know what that's supposed to mean, "supply" of what? What am I "unable" to choose?

                    • Given your repeated wish to legalize drug abuse, I should think that would be completely obvious.

                    • Sorry, it isn't. What does one have to do with the other? You don't believe in freedom of choice?

                    • It has been 15 years since I believed in freedom of choice, ever since I read the opinion of one mother on George Tiller's website that all autistics should have been aborted.

Since then, I've been more and more against choice, in a wide variety of situations.

                    • I read the opinion of one mother on George Tiller's website that all autistics should have been aborted

Well, that's going a bit beyond the individual's choice. A person who says that is an idiot. Extremists on all sides I guess.

            • So sad is a man who's happy in his ignorance.

              • Do tell!

                • It goes something like this:
                  * I assumed you were being serious. I was wrong. I've learned. From now on I'll correctly assume that you're non-serious.
                  * You assumed I wasn't being serious. You were wrong. You don't want to learn. You'll continue to incorrection assume that I'm non-serious.

                  • I assumed you were being serious.

No you didn't. Your first response to me says it all. Even though the routine is pretty old, I'm good with it. And besides, this ain't your original account. You bring no "seriousness" here. You're just being a goof. So save your breath and enjoy the show.

                    • You know that's not true. I took your tranquilizer comment at face value. I believed you meant what you wrote in the first comment I responded to. I just didn't hold anything back saying what I genuinely thought of it.

                    • My response in that JE was as every bit as serious as the goofy shit you proposed. No, I'm talking about this comment [slashdot.org] in this JE. It's why I friended you. You are very invigorating, a troll, but an invigorating one. Thank you

                    • Now you're getting like DR, where what I've said and its meaning is quickly forgotten. Check the transcript; you're just arguing with yourself, darlin.

                    • Check it yerself! Face it. You're a nut.

                    • Uh oh. Now I'm starting to like you a bit.
