What's in *your* MP3 (or perhaps CD) player?

  • Sins of Omission, not sure I've ever heard it before. I just put Winamp on random and let it decide.
  • Ayn Rand - Atlas Shrugged, next I'm going to listen to Tom Clancy - Red Storm Rising.

I learned how to turn my cds into audio books that the iPod can figure out, which totally kicks ass. It's not as complicated as I expected, although someone needs to turn it into a one-step operation.
  • 15 genres, 129 artists, 129 albums, 1347 songs, 4.4 days, 11.85 GB. And not all of my CD collection has been ripped yet.

Now playing: Howling by Tomayasu Hotei. I'd post lyrics, but it's an instrumental, so you'll have to make do with the mental image of me playing air guitar to a Satriani-esque ballad.

    • 39 Genres, 444 artists. 295 albums, 2632 songs, 10.1 days, weighing in at 12.7 GB. That's only the things I wanted to rip/buy from iTunes. Teh funny thing is, out of my friends I have the least. My 15G iPod isn't quite full yet, but my friends have filled up 30 and in 1 case a 60G!

I keep thinking of Austin Powers.

60GB??? HAHAHA That amount of music doesn't even EXIST!!!
  • Spice Drops by Ghoti Hook
  • I have a set of CD's consisting of multiple albums ripped to MP3 that I listen to while at work.

Now Playing: Thousand Foot Krutch: "The Art of Breaking"

    I know we've tried
    this thing a million times

  • I finally got around to buying an iPod last Sunday. (See the consequences [slashdot.org] of my refusal to pay MA sales tax.) It's still unopened, so the only stuff on it is what Apple bundled.

In my headphones now: Snitches & Spies by Wayne Wonder.

  • 4am. Makes me sniffle. :( heh.

I wonder which of the 8931 songs it will play next? I *HEART* my iPod.
    • Sorry, I accidentally hit enter before pasting in the lyrics!

I walked around my good intentions
and found that there were none
I blame my father for the wasted years
      we hardly talked
I never thought I would forget this hate
then a phone call made me realize
      I'm wrong

And if I don't make it known that
      I've loved you all along
just like the sunny days that
      we ignore because
      we're all dumb & jaded
and I hope to God I figure out
      what's wrong

      I walked around my room

  • Type O Negative - Die With Me.
  • iriver ifp-900 (256MB)

eazy e, dre, tom jones, barry white and this morning's howard stern (currently playing) =)
  • A ha - The Sun Always Shines on TV
  • The Who's 'Tommy' is what is playing now.
  • The Association - Windy.

I'm stuck in the office just now, and I'm enjoying several items that I got recently.
  • Some sermons from my college church, some Nickel Creek [amazon.com], some recorded .wav files from my BPD interview today, a recorded wav from some price comparison shopping I did at Circuit City (I'm going gigabit baby!!), and a .zip file of my bookmarks. I'll probably be uploading my outlook contacts and schedule as well. I don't want to loose that data when I am laid off next week.

  • is playing on the iPod right now. Stabbing Westward's "Wither Blister Burn & Peel" is my "breakup album" of choice, because it's mostly about heartbreak and the anger and hurt that accompanies it. That song is asking how to forget about the person you spent all that time and energy on.
  • But that's okay. I'm not jealous or anything. :)
    • I've not afforded one, actually. I have a 160GB IDE hard drive that I have installed in a drive enclosure, and I plug it into my laptop via USB or FireWire. I use it for a jukebox (roughly 18GB of music is on there), but I also store a *lot* of data on there and things I care not to lose.
