Journal tomhudson's Journal: Charlton Heston Dead 8

ABC News is reporting the death of Charlton Heston died Saturday, April 5th, 2008.

While the rest of the world probably knew him best for epics like "Ben Hur" and "The Ten Commandments", slashdotters are more likely to remember him for "Planet of the Apes" and as the former president of the National Rifle Assoc (NRA) - and the originator of "you can have ... when you pry it from my cold, dead hands".

    • I was going to go with the whole "DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!", but the dirty ape comment will work, also.

      I just watched this a couple weeks with my wife (who has never seen it). As soon as it was over, I was once again moved at how well they perceived the Scopes Monkey Trial from the evolutionists point of view. Wife's comment? "Now I can't wait to see the remake!" Ugh...

        I have a deal with one of my friends - he buys the dvd of the BSG series, and we watch it together (instead of watching it on TV). This way, we get the whole experience, including the back-stories and bonus features, and get it all in just a few weekends, instead of over a whole season.
