Hacker Group LulzSec Challenges FBI->

Submitted by
Tiek00n
Tiek00n writes "Hacker Group "LulzSec" has gained some attention recently for their hacks of PBS and Sony. Their most recent target: FBI affiliate Infragard.

The group claims "It has come to our unfortunate attention that NATO and our good friend Barrack Osama-Llama 24th-century Obama have recently upped the stakes with regard to hacking. They now treat hacking as an act of war. So, we just hacked an FBI affiliated website (Infragard, specifically the Atlanta chapter) and leaked its user base. We also took complete control over the site and defaced it""

Netsuite CEO says Microsoft cloud is “fake&r->

Submitted by sholto
sholto writes "This week Netsuite CEO Zac Nelson decided not to get involved in the tiff between Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and Salesforce CEO Mark Benioff over the definition of cloud computing. Instead in this blunt Q&A he divided IT vendors into real clouds and fake clouds.
Who is selling fake clouds? “Microsoft is famous for saying 'all our applications are in the cloud'. No they're not. They're their existing applications hosted someplace. That failed back in 1999 — how's it going to succeed in 2010?”"

SPAM: Xbox Live for Original Xbox Games Shutting Down

Submitted by itwbennett
itwbennett writes "Giving no explanation beyond that it 'will provide the greatest benefit to the Xbox LIVE community,' Microsoft's General Manager for Xbox Live, Mark Whitten, announced that as of April 15th, Microsoft will be shutting down its Xbox Live service for the original Xbox and its games. 'Cold comfort for those of you who still enjoy playing Xbox titles like Halo 2 with your friends,' writes blogger Peter Smith. But Smith notes that Whitten's announcement does hint at some form of restitution for those affected, encouraging users to check their LIVE messages for more details and opportunities."

Visual Studio 2010 forces tab indenting-> 2

Submitted by Anonymous Coward
An anonymous reader writes "For years, Microsoft has allowed Visual Studio users to define arbitrary tab widths, often to the dismay of those viewing the resultant code in other editors. With the VS2010, it appears that they have taken the next step of forcing tab width to be the same as the indent size in code. Two space tabs anyone?"

Sleep Mailing 195

Posted by samzenpus
from the better-than-drunk-dialing dept.
Doctors have reported the first case of someone using the internet while asleep, when a sleeping woman sent emails to people asking them over for drinks and caviar. The 44-year-old woman found out what she had done after a would be guest phoned her about it the next day. While asleep the woman turned on her computer, logged on by typing her username and password then composed and sent three emails. Each mail was in a random mix of upper and lower cases, unformatted and written in strange language. One read: "Come tomorrow and sort this hell hole out. Dinner and drinks, 4.pm,. Bring wine and caviar only." Another said simply, "What the......." If I had known that researchers were interested in unformatted, rambling email I would have let them read my inbox. They could start a whole new school of medicine.

Beacon's reach extends to non-Facebook users->

StonyandCher writes "f you think that just because you have never signed up for Facebook you're immune to the tracking and collecting of user activities outside of this popular social networking site, think again. Facebook's controversial Beacon ad system tracks activities from all users in its third-party partner sites, including from people who have never signed up with Facebook or who have deactivated their accounts, CA has found."
