KH2002 writes "Mitch Kapor, former Mozilla chairman, and founder of Lotus and EFF has announced that he's bailing from his open source initiative to create an advanced personal information manager — "Chandler," also intended as a replacement for MS Outlook. This comes after six years of development with no product release. Staffing is slashed, and Kapor's financial support stops at year's end. There's analysis at "Why Does Everything Suck?", with a "Weekend at Bernie's" post-mortem twist."
