Journal Jeremiah Cornelius's Journal: OWS Should Start Reminding EVERYBODY 7

That the current cycle of Kleptocracy began with "Supply Side Economics".

Start toppling the statues of Reagan. He's the "Stalin" of Wall Street.

You can see the puppet-strings on every president and candidate since '88. When they uniformly praise the Reagan legacy. Quislings - who deserve exile on the moon, for betraying "I swear to protect and defend..."

  • Time to start toppling the statues of Reagan

    That is exactly right.

I hope you don't mind that I intend to use that, JC.

    • Please do!

Of course, he was a delusional fool. An actor playing the role of "President". But he has been made a hallowed figure, used to sanctify the adventures of empire and values of oligarchal kleptocracy - as if they were somehow the acme of liberty.

      Pull 'em down.

It is almost as effective to point out to the reaganites that their beloved wouldn't even be welcomed in their party any more. Hell he specifically raised taxes on the wealthiest during his presidency, but now anyone who suggests such a thing is immediately labelled as a communist and run out of town.

  • And it's time to rename some airports, too. Not only Reagan, but Dulles also while we're at it... to Ben-Gurion and Sharett...

    • We should just be glad that after ray-gun passed away the GOP didn't manage to renamed everything in the country after him. At one point it seemed like there were plans for almost every state in the country to have at least one "Reagan International Airport", one "Reagan Federal Building", and at least one "Reagan Interstate Highway" as well. So in the end the fact that we have only one Reagan airport is I guess a sign of prevailing (marginal) sanity.

Even better is that somehow we managed to not carve

Here in Chicago, we've got a Ronald Reagan Tollway (of course, a tollway), and I have never heard a single person use the name. Even on radio traffic reports, it's referred to as "Route 88". The only reason I know it's been named for the late demented president is because it is referred t

Well of course; he wasn't inclined to give anyone (in the US) anything for free.

A connection between ray-gun and Chicago reminds me of all the pomp and waste that went into his funeral and associated nonsense. His dead body flew more miles in two weeks than most Americans fly in a year; they even did that stupid wing-dip stunt over IL on the flight from DC to CA. What kind of conservatism is represented by that kind of pointless consumption - on the taxpayer's dollar no less?

Maybe it's just the fact that everyone can trace the decline of the nation to that wrinkled asshole's 8 years in office.
