Comment Big whoop (Score 0) 45

I'll bet, except for benchmarking programs, any commonly used app on the google play store, will run just as efficiently on any snapdragon 8xx SOC, as it does on my snapdragon 400 device. People are for the most part, WASTING their money trading in a snapdragon 800,801 device for a snapdragon 808-810 device, just on the basis of performance alone. My 400 device, has a great camera, plenty of ram, LTE, battery that lasts 3 days with 3% left over, but I didn't pay 600-800 bucks for it. Hey, your money, I just don't get the "need" to trade a device 6-9 months after you get it, unless it was a dud out of the box, or you've jacked around with it to the point that it is unstable.

Comment f.lux (Score 0) 52

I've been using f.lux on my computer to change the color temperature on my monitor from the standard 6500k down to 3500k at sundown. I've been using it for almost a year and even with caffeine intake, I find myself naturally getting sleepy around 10pm, unlike the usual midnight to 1am time I use to experience.

Comment Don't buy carrier based phones (Score 0) 350

Last three smartphones I've had in the last 5 years, Dell Streak5, Samsung Galaxy Note1, Huawei Ascend Mate2, all purchased full price OFF CONTRACT, direct from the manufacturer, carrier unlocked, had FM radios that worked just fine. You had to use ear buds, because they used the headphone wire for the antenna, but it did work. I've had much better luck with the performance & stability of those 3 devices, than I've had with any of my previous phones. I think in part because they are all unlocked, not crippled non carrier based devices.

Comment Same load of crap about fuel taxes (Score 0) 533

For decades, government has told us to either buy a smart car, small car, cars with better gas mileage. So, we did. Now government is crying because we are not buying as much gasoline as we use to, and government isn't getting "its share" of fuel tax like it use to, so they want to increase the fuel tax to make up the difference. Same with self produced electricity. Now the utility companies will want a surcharge if you make your own...typical...government hates competition.

Comment hanging, short drop method (Score 0) 591

Rope, minimal cost Gallows, minimal cost Short drop method, neck snapped, person DEAD. A lot more efficient and cheaper than all of this other crap. It makes no sense to swab a persons arm before inserting a needle to execute them. You afraid of them catching a germ? Drugs have to be approved by the FDA, you have to have sterile conditions, doctors, nurses, hospital gurney and the like. Just let them walk up the steps to a gallows, put a bag over their head, attach a rope around their neck, pull the handle, let them drop, problem solved.

Comment WON'T work (Score 0) 482

Their "profit" right now is PROJECTED, not actual. Once people from the "janitor to the CEO" learn that working harder will NOT get you ahead, people will start slacking off, because there is no incentive to do a good job. This will be another FAILED trial of socialism, but, you can bet there will be little if no press coverage, when this fails.

Comment bunk (Score 0) 489

Hey, the issue with the police officer, to me that was MURDER, plain and simple. But, these "cell phone" recordings of incidents, usually start AFTER whatever altercation between the parties started. In other words, ONE SIDE of the situation is recorded, leaving the viewer, if they are going to be unbiased to wonder if something happened BEFORE the record button was pressed.
