Oh, and back on topic and more to the point:
7. If gas tank 20% full and battery 20% full, hibernate mode on computer if accidentally left on and wheels are not moving. Right now if you tried to use a Gen2 prius as a backup house generator, you run the risk of bricking the system, unable to boot computer, unable to add more gas, must drag onto a flatbed and tow to Toyota to use their fancy charging system to bring the car back to life.

I guess I'd just make some different programming choices- and eventually really want to replace the computer in my Prius with one that has some added features. These features may already be available on newer models, mine is a 2006 Gen2.

Features I'd like to see:
1. The only reason to run the gas engine under 25 miles an hour should be for recharging and generating, period. EV mode only at low speed.
2. An expert mode should be available wherein "creep ahead at stop" is disabled
3. Cruise control should also be able to be set by a numeric keypad, and should be able to handle values lower than 23.
4. Sport mode should be available that disengages the traction control and enables all three motors for acceleration (you can get the second half of this in a gen2 by angrily stomping on the accelerator, it takes a second to engage, but you suddenly go from 34 HP to 174 HP as the second electric and the gas motor kick in).
5. Finer resolution than 5 minutes on the average MPG consumption graph.
6. Ability to download trip data onto an SD card.

Agreed on all of that. It's incredibly hard to defend a nation with porous borders, as Pope Francis just found out trying to protect the Vatican from child pornography. And yes, we need an overhaul of the welfare state AND modernization of the immigration system. In this day of Total Information Awareness, 10 years to get a background check for a green card is a scandal beyond comprehension.

Common core does not work for uncommon children. That alone should regulate it to the dust bin of history.

I want to see a return of the nun's loophole, but with three changes:
1. It should only be available on personal 1040s, not on corporate, and should not be available on the 1040EZ
2. The percentage should be lowered to equal to that individual's tax bracket, that is, if you voluntarily gave away equal to your withholding or greater on your W2, you should owe zero federal taxes. Likewise, if you have capital gains and you gave away more than 28% of the proceeds, you should owe zero federal taxes.
3. Charitable giving should reduce your tax burden dollar for dollar. You *should* be able to wipe out your federal taxes by writing a check to the Church. You should not have to spend 80% of your earnings to do it.

This is how I feel about everybody other than Carson, Rubio, and Santorum. And even those three, well, I've got my questions about.

I'll likely be voting Constitution again- despite the fact that they're infected by the Enlightenment as well.

Concerned citizen: So are you a Democrat or a Republican?
Me: Well, neither. I’m a Catholic.
Concerned citizen: Huh?
Me: Uh. I fundamentally disagree with the underlying principles of both parties. I’m Catholic.
Concerned citizen: Well I heard that new pope is a communist. Are you a liberal?
Me: NO! I’m a Catholic.
Concerned Citizen: But didn’t the last pope hate gays? Are you some kinda conservative?
Me: Buuuuuuh. Catholic political thought predates these stupid parties by well over a thousand years! Criticizing capitalism does not make you a communist and rejecting communism does not mean you embrace industrial capitalism. Your spectrum is broken because it’s based on faulty Enlightenment thinking. Both parties have disjointed and contradictory platforms because modernity has failed you! Catholicism offers a comprehensive and COHERENT alternative that doesn’t fit on the ridiculous American political chart.

And profoundly agree with it.

I'm at a point in my life when I'm a Cardinal Reinhard Marxist. That is, distributism. The solution to both capitalist and socialist materialism, is Christian solidarity and subsidiarity with our closest neighbors. Let the smallest competent unit of organization do the work- don't let Supreme or the State do for you what your council should be doing for itself; don't let the federal government be the only way you take care of the poor.

Or as Pope Francis said more recently- let our charity be concrete- personal, not anonymous. Government is an anonymizer. So is big business. So are large charitable organizations in a way. The Knights can end up with this problem if we let Supreme do our charity work for us. We must let personal charity be the way our personal virtue compass needle points.

Also, don't write her off only at age 30. Plenty of ASD Level 3 people migrate to Level 1 in their 40s. Kanner Autism Patient Zero, at age 64, holds down a job in his family's bank, drives a car, and travels once a month. At 30 he was doing none of that.
