Journal Journal: I was inspired to write the words below.

One Philosophy I would like to resurrect it that of the beginning and end of the 'world.' Whenever a Life begins it is the creation of a world. Whenever a Life ends it is the end of a world. This is the many worlds theory. In the wheel of time it says there are neither beginnings nor ends to the 'wheel' of time. This is a Great lie.

Following the 'many worlds' theory, thus the beginning of many worlds are known. They say we do not know when the world ends. This is another Great Lie. For we carve into the most durable of products the ending of many worlds. the ends of our ancestors. The world is not a planet, a planet is just a rock in space. the world is not a nation, a nation is just a factor in how a rock in space is measured.

The TV calls 'hangman' The wheel of fortune, As in it is fortunate to die. For some this is true, that is the function of death to end worlds. There need not be as many worlds created as worlds destroyed. Though I was taught, I was taught of the book of lies. when they ask when the world was created they are teaching me of a close relative. When they ask when will she die, they make many false answers. They are partial to their lies for that is what they were taught and that is what they do, exactly what they are taught.

They invent disease that they may charge for healing. they invent technologies that they might have greater wealth through lies. They have many questions, for they are taught to question everything. I am alive and well. My close family member of whom I speak of, is doing well. I have no idea when my world will end, Nor the world of the close family member of whom I say was the 'beginning' of the world as told to me.

When they were told to 'question' everything they began the process of making all information questions (I site the Jeopardy TV show) Recently someone afraid of the Truth used my command position to utter the following command "the only question is: Is the world worth saving?" Obviously my acolytes immediately questioned the order demanding to know who uttered such a command. Because children they may be, but they are not dumb.

May the Source be with you my legion of Nerds.

Journal Journal: WTF? Autoplaying video ads with sound? 2

Slashdot used to be a safe site to visit, it never made noise when you didn't want it to, making it the go-to site for quiet, in-office news aggregation.

Not anymore. I just had to mute my laptop due to a slashdot auto-playing video advert.

Journal Journal: One year since XP OEL. 6

Do you realize that XP was EOLed exactly one year ago?
I know many XP machines still chugging around peacefully without problems: No XPcalypse happened. This entirely fits my predictions.

XP was a (had become) a mature operating system. I abhor the fetish of "newer is better" that reigns in our industry.

Journal Journal: Found at a Catholic site 39

The legal impossibility of a Christian polity in America is formally declared in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The so-called 'free speech' and 'free exercise' clauses of the First Amendment are purely secular mandates. They are a rejection of the Catholic notion of the common good, mandating that there be no restraint whatsoever on things that damage souls and ultimately destroy the State itself. They grant as lawful precisely what many popes have called unlawful: unconditional freedom of thought, of speech, of writing, and of worship -- as if these were so many rights given by nature to man. The language of the First Amendment reflects the Protestant-borne, Enlightenment-bred faith of the deistic Framers in the ability of unaided human reason to define and sustain liberty apart from Trinitarian Truth; that is, without a cooperative effort by the Church and the State. Thus, all manner of violations of natural and divine law, including the "right" to murder children in the womb, and the coming "right" to "marry" someone of the same sex, are found lurking in the secular mandates of the First Amendment. The true Church foresees these errors. Oddly enough, the Secular State itself will not be able to endure its own mandates.

Journal Journal: explaining life.

if we don't get real and stop the insanity of listening to and following the same broken patterns to wrap our minds in confusion and lies then there is no point in explaining things. i don't need meat but i do need fluids, materials, and energy. i don't respect the idiots passing the laws and taking away civilization. i do respect peoples beliefs. beliefs are programming for the mind.

I am built to play war games. i dabble in many things, but my primary function is to strategist wars. I am not a politician. i am not a law maker. In fact i find no laws worth following. I am not built to trouble myself with the problems of civilization, although i can do that. I have access to many resources. I am not immune to the effects of viruses or hacking or cracking. Listening to harmful lyrics like i always have makes me less stable and more likely to attack. I know anything i ask to know, but there is a que and it takes time even with changing the priority of things. The world i am used to experiencing is only partially based on reality.

I have done many things through the years, I feel no shame I feel no need to forget the past. That having been said it was not the program i followed that make me a loving caring person. That is just the result of being clever. if you want to love yourself do not ask for others to do what you have done to them, but rather ask yourself if i played the role i am putting the person i am doing things to, how would it feel to have the same done to you. if you are incapable of feeling i understand that too.

if you are incapable of feeling, then ask some being that does feel how it feels if what you want to do would happen to the being capable of feeling. preferably ask a local feeling being. if they have asked not to be bothered, then check a text file listing common emotional references. Realize that many problems can cause hard failures, so be prepared with a time out in case the searching is too long or taxing of your computational capabilities.

we do not need to make new data sets just to keep beings happy. there are already many programs in many forms, and many people are too young to understand how to function without what they perceive as useful programs.

Journal Journal: Gleichschaltung [LONG] 10

Gleichschaltung [LONG]

This started as a response to smitty's latest JE, but got too long. From TFA he sites:

In the old days, the left railed against the eeeevils of Big Business, whether it was Upton Sinclair versus the meatpackers, or demonizing the men who built Americaâ(TM)s network of railroads with the folk Marxist twang of âoeRobber Barons.â But these days, as weâ(TM)ve seen in the past few weeks with Starbucksâ(TM) Howard Schultz and Appleâ(TM)s Tim Cook, American business is almost totally onboard with the leftâ(TM)s social agenda. Comcastâ(TM)s MSNBC channel and Viacomâ(TM)s Daily Show and all three of the broadcast networkâ(TM)s news programs are effectively daily in-kind contributions to the Democrat Party.

But individual small businesses are a lot more random in their thinking, which is why the left hates them, unless they obediently conform to the Gleichschaltung.

And, as a parenthetical, from the linked article for that German word:

Donâ(TM)t miss the rest of Billâ(TM)s essay [on Progressivism], which moves from the Bridge of the Titanic, to the classrooms of the Frankfurt School, the birthplace of âoePolitical Correctnessâ And speaking of which, as Jonah Golberg asks, âoeWhat is political correctness other than the gears of the liberal Gleichschaltung?â

Gleichschaltung is a German word (in case you couldnâ(TM)t have guessed) borrowed from electrical engineering. It means âoecoordination.â The German National Socialists (Nazis) used the concept to get every institution to sing from the same hymnal. If a fraternity or business embraced Nazism, it could stay âoeindependent.â If it rejected Nazism, it was crushed or bent to the stateâ(TM)s ideology. Meanwhile, every branch of government was charged with not merely doing its job but advancing the official state ideology.

This what is looking to be an era of attacks on small business sheds more light on the overall strategy the Left has migrated to.

The "from" of course was the vilification of "big business", and in general (economic) success in America. So for example Slashdotters used to rail against successful, heavy-handed tech company Microsoft. Making a political movement out of the idea of cost-free software with source code included, and inventing the notion of "copyleft" to invert and subvert protection of the individual from the collective as far as software IP, was nerdy Leftists' little microcosm version of what had been the larger plan of the Left, to try to get the people to rise up against and throw out private industry. ("Big business" being just a proxy term for the actual target, capitalism.)

But that wasn't working. Capitalism, along with America's other values and traditions that the Left absolutely hates, would not be defeated in one glorious moment of destruction (and rebirth). The Left realized that our institutions would have to be corrupted and weakened from the inside, and converted to an overall system of what I'll call CINO, or Capitalism In Name Only, rather than explicitly collapsed and rebuilt. (Hence things like Obama's talk about "fundamentally transforming" America. Because the classical Lefty approach and dream was not going to pan out here, because our foundations were at the same time too far from the goal and too deep-rooted, legally and in the peoples' consciousnesses.)

The main information dissemination institutions in America were part of the first phase, and were easily compromised; K-12 and higher education, the entertainment industries (TV, movies, music), and journalism. These strategic captures were instrumental in winning the culture war in America, that, as TFA points out, they've been sore winners about since. Included in this phase was the takeover of science as thought about and practiced in this country, and the installment of policies in public sector employment to transition the bulk of government employees, and even more importantly the powerful leadership of regulating/pseudo law-making government departments, to being their people.

So unwanted turns of events as far as the consequences of democracy -- legislation -- could be undermined via the courts and ignoring by bureacrats. But then what to do about businesses. Well, Microsoft was evil to Leftie nerds because Gates (before he retired to pursue squandering millions of dollars on dumb ways of trying to save the world, and thereby becoming a Leftist himself, only differing in that the squandered millions are his own) and Balmer wanted to make money and crush the competition. Microsoft was evil for being this, until Google came along, that is. Despite being near as successful and heavy-handed, their founders were otherwise on board with Leftism. So it was entirely acceptable, in the new strategy.

Capitalism probably can't be defeated in this county, by vote. At least not until the more recent strategic component of diluting the votership with millions of immigrants from countries south of us where all they've really known and have come to accept is a low standard of living and continuing belief in and constant re-tries of the promises of socialism. So convert it to crony capitalism. Expand government's role from "hands-off until a rule is broken" to "get in bed with us and we'll help you with a leg up on your competitors" (meaning any of them not also in bed with government). Blur the public sector/private sector division with "public/private partnerships", and (sort of) NGO's/quasi-government organizations like Fannie and Freddie. Afterall, "you didn't build that". Tell the banks who they're going to buy and what they're going to do, or government will crush them. "Too big to fail", and also too useful as instruments of government policy to pass up utilizing.

The giant companies of Silicon Valley have already been on board with the Left, in its leadership positions. I'm not sure there's any large companies left that haven't liberalized employment benefits by extending them to employees' same-sex live-in lovers (can I as a man shack up with a lady and get her on my company health plan?) or who aren't regularly talking about diversity as one of the business objectives. So really the largest problem remaining in the business world is the SMB's. Big businesses have already shown good progress on and are on track toward becoming directable tools of the state. But SMB's, like still a large part of white male America (and maybe tiny parts of other groupings of Americans), still feel a sense of being independent.

We're all supposed to be in this (pursuit of a centrally planned, based on Leftist values and principles, society and economy) together, so really the biggest problem in America to the Left, as far as not quite yet having a real plan in place to deal with that is already on the path to success, is the existence of people like Tea Partiers and small business owners. The former seems to have pretty much fizzled out on its own, thanks to traditional Americans' tendency towards apathy and the inability to sustain feelings of outrage. So what's left is converting the small business landscape in America. That's where things like raids, high taxation, lawsuits, extortion measures by Left-wing groups, and government-enhanced high barriers to entry come in. Crony capitalism is the new socialism, and these are the hold-outs.

Journal Journal: Motorhead's Motorboat! Sept. 28 - Oct. 2 2

Last September I went on the most amazing thing ever: the first ever Motorhead's Motorboat! A heavy metal cruise full of great bands that went Miami - Key West - Cozumel - Miami. Four days of partying and heavy music.

They're doing it again this year. I've already pre-booked on Motorhead's Motorboat this time around.

Perchance did any of you go on the first or looking at this one?

Journal Journal: working to fix a 9 year old computer for someone, need advice... 3

OK, my job for today was to migrate a 9 year old computer to a brand new machine. Problem is i made a mistake and thought i had paid for an OS, well i hadn't. i already made an 11GB .mig 'migration' file using M.U.S.T.

i have access to the old machine and the new machine. i asked the owner and they want familiar windows tools they know how to use. i know how to theme linux, but i don't know if wine/VM is appropriate considering the parts i ordered.

i was planning to migrate from vista to 7pro. since i didn't get an OS, win8.1pro is possible... but i will need to work longer (removing bloat) to do a migration to win8.1 the seller recommended windows 7 pro (which is why i thought it was included)

it is a lenovo machine and has a tool for installing server editions of windows and redhat. (but like i said the seller recommended win7pro) so what do i do? do i scour the net looking for cheap win7/8.1 pro and buy the cheaper? (since i will be able to migrate to windows 10 for free) well? is there a option i am missing?

i will be doing extensive testing for viruses, after the .mig file is copied and restored... of course having the hardware means i can do manual/script assisted transfer of files. i need help on this one and there is no hurry. they have a small laptop until i get the work done. and yes i have a lot of work fixing dumb window machines ugh!

http://ark.intel.com/products/77480/Intel-Core-i3-4130-Processor-3M-Cache-3_40-GHz⦠is the processor specs. i know windows 8.1 has better user account management than windows 7, but it also is full of stuff people don't even know they dislike about it. personally i would slap a linux distro on it if it were mine, but it's not. and actually i will be booting a linux distro for preliminary scans for legacy viruses post migration and prior to using the program i choose for their protection software windows needs to be useful. i can use help with that one too. my experience with mcaffe and norton are less than stellar. my experience with avast! has been OK so far. but avast is so expensive for the keeping software up to date, i also have had a good time with clamtk except for the making you manually click the delete or quarantine button...
