How is it a violation of TrueCrypt's license when TrueCrypt's license specifically ALLOWS for this?

For the idiots who can't even read the story: TrueCrypt's license allows for taking all the code and reusing it, with only requirement being using a different name.

Microsoft tried it already with 8. REALLY really tried it with 8, removing 7 from everywhere it only could.

It was a disaster. PC sales crashed. As we discovered, forcing 8 on people did result in marginal increase of sales of 8, and a massive reduction of sales in PCs.

Finally someone important at microsoft realised that in winning the battle of 8's adoption over 7, they were losing the war of keeping PCs being the primary customer computing platform, and 7 was quickly pushed back into OEM chain. I think that this particular lesson was painful enough for microsoft not to even think of trying it again for at least a few years.

I'm Finnish. Both us and Swedes have alcohol monopoly, and had it for a very long time. It works wonders and is a part of preventive measures against alcohol abuse in countries where winter darkness is massive.

The sheer ignorance of suggesting that this would make alcoholics drive is quite astounding. Neither Systembolaget nor Alko serve drunk customers and both countries have top notch public transit. Ignorance at its finest.

Here, have a look: https://www.systembolaget.se/E...

Actually it discourages them, because neither Systembolaget nor Alko, the monopoly relatailers in Sweden and Finland respectively, do not sell to inebriated people.

If you're drunk, you're not getting any more alcohol. So no reason to drive there in the first place. Not to even mention that both countries have excellent public transport and taxi systems, and a lot of campaigns to discourage drunk driving.

In case you need evidence, here's Systembolaget's English page on the topic:

You are truly a one warped individual and need help.

At which point, attempting to resale alcohol through this delivery system would be a criminal offence. One of the main reasons for government monopolies on alcohol in states where such monopoly exists is reduction of consumption.

Let me help you. Minecraft is where Lego was a couple of decades ago. Not something adults play with much, but something that is absolutely HUGE with young boys.

They're not buying this for "ads". They are buying this to get access to massive amount of young boys who are going to grow up, and who can typically influence their parents to buy them the game and subscription to a paid server.

All accidents are "medical" in nature in that they cause damage to the body that is medically treatable to an extent, just like any other illness. Therefore, if we could "eliminate all medical causes of death", we would be immortal.

How our minds would survive such an ordeal is a whole different story.
