And they're not going to do anything about it until it actually happens, because that would cost money and some douchebag CEO wants a fat bonus this quarter. There could be a law if you could get Congress to cooperate. And if they weren't all old and actually understood anything about computers. You'd think as much as most of them fly, they'd be worried about that. I'd guess if you ask any given one, it wouldn't even be on their top 100 list of things to be worried about. Probably not even on their top 100 list of things to be worried about while flying.

Longmont municipal fiber just got run to my house. It's about as advertised, but there's a huge difference between knowing I can push 600ish megabits per second up and watching a 2GB skydiving video upload to youtube faster than I can type the description into the video description box. Hmm. Maybe I should make a video of me uploading my next high pull video to youtube. It'd be a lot smaller than 2GB, that's for sure!

No doubt it'll slow down a bit as more people pile on, but it should be pretty sweet for the forseeable future.

Slashdot used to be a safe site to visit, it never made noise when you didn't want it to, making it the go-to site for quiet, in-office news aggregation.

Not anymore. I just had to mute my laptop due to a slashdot auto-playing video advert.
