I'm sure there is a huge difference when you ignore the parts you do not agree with. Like this sections started out though, you don't get to ignore reality and impose your own. You do not have to believe miracles happen but you do have to acknowledge that others do. Your premise is lot on reality.

Each vendor is using crowd sourced location / WiFi sniffing / map building excuses to collect location data from everyone. At least one vendor offers no ability to disable crowd sourcing without also preventing GPS from being used.

GPS ASIC's have advanced to the point where standard excuses (uses too much power, takes too long to get a fix, some indoor use) are no longer applicable. This appears to in no way be discouraging vendors from selecting shitty GPS components while propagating excuses which unnecessarily eat into data plans and upload all of your data.

Think of this from the Chinese perspective. Instead of everyone's location data being uploaded to Google or Apple ... what if it was all going to Huawei? Would US officials be comfortable with data about everyone's location constantly uploaded "anonymously" to Huawei?

I think we are all better off if vendors used more capable GPS chips in their handsets and location data is not constantly being uploaded to any single vendor for any reason by default.

However, you would think that the laser would need to be sighted separate from the gun. In order to compensate for gravity, the barrel of the gun is usually lifted so the trajectory is an arch of sorts rather than a straight line. A laser on the other hand, while also suffering from gravity, will not be near as much or even notifiable. This isn't a problem with handguns because the range they are used in is so close that gravity doesn't take hold. Long shots will require a lot of compensation.

You are basically saying that because others will also say it is true, you will believe it to be true. But then we are bombarded with articles about scientific journals printing improper materials and groups of people conspiring to taint peer review. But you trust is it all true. NASA has basically lost the magical incantations to build a Saturn V rocket and yet you can prove it wrong.

Yes, some people, somewhere, might end up with enough knowledge and resources to test something. People also claim to be told to do things by God, to see miracles, that their success is because of a God. For the vast majority of people, there is no difference in mental process. You have faith in science, people have faith in religion, some people have both because they are both tools and used for different purposes.

I've got a different take on the matter. As far as I know, the federal government exerts control over public education by taking money away from the states via taxation, and then only returning it if the states will teach in the manner seen fit by the Dept. of Education.

I.e., they use the ability of the federal government to tax anything and everything to circumvent the limitations on the powers of the federal government.

So in contrast to your solution, I'd suggest the federal government just taxes the states' citizens less, and let the states figure it out if they want to. Problem solved.
