Deal with enough stuff and it doesn't matter where you are, somebody you want to communicate with is going to be in a different time zone.

It's far cheaper to live in the rural areas on Canberra's doorstep, or the large town next door, than in that geographically tiny city.
I've got relatives that live half an hour out of Canberra in a medium sized "hobby" farm with about 20 head of stock and a few horses, and that cost less than they made from selling a modest three bedroom place in outer suburbia. House/land prices and rent drop off very rapidly with distance and the roads are not congested.

There's no point to CM if it's not secure. If they're installing Microsoft blobs by default, it's not secure. We know Microsoft openly cooperates with the NSA on eavesdropping technology - I even wonder if this is a subtle warrant canary.
Assuming the least-bad possbility, then if they want to offer an easy-to-use tool to install a tested Microsoft bundle from the CM servers, then fantastic - for people who want to make that trade-off.
The weight difference is interesting. I wonder why they don't include average weight differences between lenses on the site when you're pricing it out? I suppose it is because the difference is so small that it would sell less upgrades. For my son's glasses I worry less about the frames and more about scratch resistance and lens replaceability (browser spellcheck claims that's not a word. Of course it also thinks spellcheck is not a word either, but I believe it's in common enough usage to be a full non-hyphened compound
