Why use secrete service agents when instead it could be a dual use facility for the training of the US Olympic track and field team.

It would make more sense for them to practice at the "real" White House, and have Obama move to the remote "fake" White House. Is there any reason the POTUS needs to be physically located in downtown DC?

Have you ever been to an auto race? I would not describe the typical crowd as "rich people". And what is wrong with having fun? Isn't that what life is all about?

Then don't buy a Chromebook. It is not a professional workstation. I don't have one either. But my kids do. Chromebooks are also popular with schools. They are cheap, and are difficult for students to screw up, because ... well because there is nothing on them. But if all you need is a broswer and Google docs, they are fine. You can buy five of them for the price of a Macbook.

In this case it was one day. In other cases of apparently intentional crashes, it took much longer. The cause of some of those crashes is still disputed. A video would also be useful for crashes involving equipment failure, human error, or some combination, to see how the crew reacted.

Yes, refrigerators are more efficient now, but they don't last nearly as long as they used to.

Do you have any data to back that up? The myth that appliances, tools, or cars lasted longer in the past is mostly false nostalgia.

Most now only have a year warranty, in the past they had 5 year warranties.

That is not because they don't last. It is because manufacturers have figured out that they can make a lot of money selling "extended warranties" to dumb people.

A lot of places in the US have homeless "tent cities" where local homeless populations live

These are almost all squatters on someone else's property, or on public land where overnight sleeping is not officially allowed. There would be strong objections to making these camps permanent. There are also practical reasons why it is a bad idea. Most homeless people are homeless for a reason. They have mental disorders, substance abuse problems, criminal records, etc. Concentrating them in one place, with policies that will attract even more to the same area, is going to cause a lot of problems. It is much better to use rent vouchers or income credits to disperse the homeless into stable communities where there is structure and support for them to turn their life around.

You should not assume that women are more pro-woman. Many female managers will tell you they have a lot more problems with female subordinates than with males. This is especially true if there is a significant age difference: if a talented young woman is put in charge of a team that includes older women, you will often have a lot of friction.

That's exactly what a non-compete contract is: a threat.

Not in any legal sense. Just because you imagine it to be a threat because of rabid foam-at-the-mouth manufactured outrage, doesn't mean it really is. If a clause in a contract is unenforceable, it is not illegal to put it in the contract, it just can't be enforced. Amazon has made NO effort to enforce this clause against any warehouse workers, so there is no actionable tort against them.

There are real problems in the world to get outraged about. You should refocus on something less ridiculous.

Isn't this what one would expect if dark matter is WIMPs?

Indeed. I don't think that any of this is new. The reason dark matter was hypothesized in the first place was because of the behavior of colliding galaxies, such as the Bullet Cluster. The missing mass couldn't be stars, because it didn't emit light, it couldn't be gas or dust, because it didn't experience drag, so it must be either WIMPS or MACHOs. Further observations ruled out the MACHOs. So what is new about this observation?
