YouTube doesn't seem to enforce its ban on downloads at all. I see *many* YT videos which include footage from other YT videos and the only way they got that was to download the video so as to include it in their own. One only has to look at they myriad of compilation "FAIL" videos to see this happening.

Even when the original creator files a DMCA claim against such videos, YT will often consider it "fair use" and not penalize the person who has clearly downloaded and then used that footage.

For YT to then come out claiming that it's against their TOS if AI systems do it is a bit rich.

which? for quite a long time I've been saying that no one can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory like a Democrat.
It's been obvious since Casey that the GOP would stop at nothing to overturn Roe yet the idiot Dems could only stand by & wring their hands as the Radical Right eroded abortion rights & protections in as many states as possible & stacked the courts with Jeebus freaks

Judges should be legal experts who rule without political bias.

I think for the most part that is indeed the case. No matter what you do, there will always be a few bad apples sneak into the bunch, but that's pretty rare.

Not in the USA.
If that were true, the GOP would never had held hundreds of seats vacant until they could appoint "legal experts who rule without political bias"

Actually you raise a good point.

YT swears that humans are involved in the "review" process associated with demonetization or community guideline strikes but there is an overwhelming mountain of evidence that points to the fact that a "manual review" consists of running the content past another AI system (which invariably produces the same result).

Surely, if users of YT are now required to honestly disclose when they use AI then YouTube itself should do likewise and stop lying about it.

As someone who enjoys using VFX in some of my videos, where will I stand?

Some of those videos portray events that never actually happened or create an illusion by compositing hand-crafted images or models into real-world scenes.

This is *NOT* AI but for all intents and purposes it has the same effect.

So will VFX artists have an exemption or do they risk being falsely accused under YT's new rules if it's alleged that their videos involve AI rather than just good old hard-work and VFX?
