Pretty much my favourite author. The localizers, the baubles, the spider people, the pocket pal... So many great concepts and ideas came out of that man. He was as great as authur C clark in my opinion. Every single one of his books is great and full of novel ideas and concepts. The whole idea of how he organized the universe into zones was just amazing to wrap your head around and solved so many conceptual problems regarding the age of the universe and why it appears to empty to us.

I was actually just recommending him last week. 79, he had a good run i guess. Seems like he died in la jola on the ocean, I hope when i die i am close to the ocean as well. Will smoke one out for him tonight for sure! RIP friend, ill keep on recommending you every chance i get.

I would love that to be true, but does not look like it. This website will allow you to search all system names, player names, etc... and nothing is coming up for vernor.

Quite a few corps that are named a variation of "Qeng Ho" though. However none are major players, most having less than 5 members.

Would be cool if they had an on off star system too!

As volume goes up, prices can come down. And, Tesla does have a history of lowering prices.

And, since Tesla, Rivian and Kia/Hyundai ** seem to be about the only car companies who are able (or willing) to make a decent EV, I'm glad it's one of the three.

(** I realize the newer eTrons and the Taycan are pretty good, so some credit is due to VW/Audi/Porsche, but the ID4 is a POS, so I'll stand by my assertion)

The Times replied on Monday that it had simply used the "first few words or sentences" of its articles to prompt ChatGPT to recreate them.

Please, tell us more. Just a few words or sentences sounds like it was most likely sentences. And the, just how many sentences did you nudge it with? How derivative were the original articles to begin with? And, is it possible the articles themselves were, in whole or part, composed by AI?

Whether due to how easy keyless autos are for thiefs to steal or could be targeted to punish the owners for buying

It's the former, and not just the keyless (at least in Kia's case). There's a class action now because Kia fucked up their ignition security so bad that it's basically been possible to "hotwire" a bunch of Kias from the past 10 years.

I like the R3, but don't want to wait for it. I reserved an R2 and, according to Rivian, they'll start delivery in the first half of 2026.

I have a 2020 Model 3, which I love everything about, except the tight suspension and how fast I eat through tires. I'm due for my third set at 52k miles, which is probably mostly my fault -- I'm... zippy.

I was waiting to see if the 2024 Model 3 would, at some point, qualify for the Federal tax rebate, but would probably have ordered one either way. Now, I don't care. Rivian's previous offerings were bigger than I wanted, but the R2 is perfect, and damned good looking.

We don't yet know what the cost of the dual motor, long range R2 will be (the one I would want), and I don't know if it will be within my budget, but I can wait and see. I'll put another set of tires on my Tesla and keep it for the next two years.

Considering subreddit mods basically have unchecked power to ban anyone for any reason, this is probably closer to real than people realize.

How long till they have companies paying to gain mod control? its so sad how every forums has just been absorbed by reddit, who will now be using all that free laybour to turn a profit for other fat cats.
