I could eat the hell out of a couple of fluffernutters right about now. I do not believe I have any fluff. Yes, this is entirely off-topic but it is the first time I have noticed your name, I think. I probably would remember it if I saw it before because I friggen' love fluffernutters. My ex had never heard of such a thing, she was a granola eating Californian, and was a bit taken aback by the prospect initially. (I can take an 'off topic' karma hit even if I did care about such things.)

The "OCD" bit implies a disorder. You do not have a disorder that is compulsive/obsessive. You are just retarded. There is a difference.

Seriously - I say this for your own good. Let it go. It is retarded and you are not "winning" anything. Just think of the valuable things you could be getting done, like reviewing the source code for your browser and then compiling it yourself!

Yes, the above is sarcasm and not really directed at you. It is just the gist of much of the posting on this thread. I had to release it somewhere and you, for better or worse, were chosen.

Try Linux Mint. It is like Linux for Retards which means I am growing to like it. It truly holds your pecker while you pee, really - it does! It is not good at shaking it off afterwards. But, seriously, it really is a very simple OS with everything right there in front of you. It is intuitive and easy enough to manage with a bit of searching until you adjust to the Mint Way® of doing things. It has a real taskbar instead of that stupid crap sidebar Ubuntu has. It replaces Mandriva nicely.

It is "snide" and "lose." Advanced users can usually spell. I only remember two of your spelling errors but there are probably more. No, I do not use a Mac. I own one and I own an iPod, I can not understand why people like them but I have, I admit, not taken enough time to use OSX or iOS to really get used to it. iOS is pretty intuitive so I manage that just fine but, still, never really use it. OSX is functional and, I am sure, a great desktop if I learn the ins and outs. Strangely enough - they are all pretty much fine (except KDE - it blows no matter what they do to it - or I just can not make it work for my workflow) so long as you learn their variations from what you are accustomed to. I manage just fine on any OS (even the dreadful KDE though I really hate it) desktop though it usually means adapting me to work with it. It takes time but not a whole lot really.

There's balancing the budget and then there's selling every productivbe tool and resource you have to balance the budget.

The first is sustainable. The latter works for about a month and then the next payment comes due and you don't even have the means to bring in money to pay it. The 'deal' being pushed on them was the latter.

The rest of Europe really doesn't want Greece to default and pull out of the Euro. Notice how once the referendum passed, the people rattling that particular saber started backpedaling. Greece going back to the Drachma could do Europe more harm than it does Greece.

The deeper you dig, the more it looks like the current situation was orchestrated to some degree. But the crooks in the banks that did the orchestrating don't get their payoff if Greece won't play along.

Google's Waze Jumps Into the Ride-Sharing Business 90

An anonymous reader writes: Waze, the online mapping company owned by Google, is testing a ride-sharing service in Israel called RideWith. The service will allow commuters to pay drivers for rides to and from work. This is a hard limit — drivers can give no more than two rides per day. If the restriction remains after the initial test, it could be a simple way to avoid pseudo-professional drivers, and all the taxi-related legal problems that go with them (see: Uber). "RideWith calculates a cost based on the anticipated fuel consumption and 'depreciation' based on mileage, and the driver is free to accept or decline the ride accordingly." One can't help but speculate about future involvement with Google's autonomous car project.

Ask Slashdot: Have You Tried a Standing Desk? 340

An anonymous reader writes: Evidence is piling up that sitting down all day is really bad for you. I work primarily from home, and as I grow older, I'm starting to worry about long term consequences to riding a desk full-time. We talked about this a few years ago, but the science has come a long way since then, and so have the options for standing desks. My questions: do you use a standing desk? What kind of setup do you have? There are a lot of options, and a lot of manufacturers. Further studies have questioned the wisdom of standing all day, so I've been thinking about a standing/sitting combo, and just switching every so often. If you do this, do you have time limits or a particular frequency with which you change from sitting to standing?

I'm also curious about under-desk treadmills — I could manage slowly walking during parts of my work, and the health benefits are easy to measure. Also, any ergonomic tips? A lot of places seem to recommend: forearms parallel to the ground, top of monitor at eye level, and a pad for under your feet. Has your experience been the same? Those of you who have gone all-out on a motorized setup, was it worth the cost? The desks are dropping in price, but I can still see myself dropping upward of $1k on this, easily.
