Journal Journal: I'm seeking a deeper file system ...

I'd like an filesystem that allows me to add attributes to a file object and can interpret embedded info such as mp3 and ogg tags. XP has some of this functionality but I'd rather use an opensource solution or extend Win2k.

Journal Journal: Browsers should be able to pre-open certain types of links

Think pop ups or PIP of the next page. Wouldn't it be nice if you could tell your browser to prefetch, and preview certain links on pages you visit? If this was rule based and supported scripting, it could be useful. It would be helpful if you could populate fields and initiate actions. Sorta like web macros. With XML tags triggering events you could, say, pop up definitions for words tagged as jargon for instance.

Journal Journal: meaningful colored links would increase web page usability

It would be great to see different colors used to indicate different types of links. A primary use should be to distinguish between protocols, ie. http internal, http external, ftp, email, gopher etc. The next use could be colors assigned according to meaning, ie. definitions, references, authorities, etc. Another use could be depth of link or the more pages, the deeper the hue. Perhaps even popularity could be represented. Just a thought. 2tec ~ rainbow surfer
