My favorite feature is Birds Eye view, which uses aerial photos rather than satellite photos. Sometimes that can get you better info from that, since they usually have 4 different perspectives you can rotate through, and they are much closer and more detailed.

That was true, but Google was pretty quick to copy it. They now seem to have incorporated it into their 3D view as well, which makes panning somewhat better (and more importantly hides the worst defects in the 3D view by limiting the projection to a POV very similar to where the texture map image was taken from).

So isn't it logical to use one that is being run by a massive competent company that is already making huge profits and has the whole world watching them vs some small org that is just trying to make ends meet that no one is paying attention to.
Frankly if I was the CIA I would be intercepting traffic to the small oddball servers more than Google.

If you look at a lot of aircraft the will have flush rivets over the front part of the fuselage and regular over the back for that reason. Some will have vortex generators on the wings as well also for that same effect.

When cable first came along it was mostly just the over the air channels (and all the ads they carried), but supposedly with fewer reception problems.

Stuff like HBO, Showtime, et cetera, came along, that were optional for extra money, and those channels were the ones bragging about no commercials.

Of course that was several decades ago, and a lot has changed since then.

I've played about 7 variants of Munchkin with my kids over the years and we agree that Adventure Time is one of the best, if not the best. It adds a lot of flavor to the game, and I'm not just talking about the artwork and flavor text from the show, but in that it adds some clever game mechanics with some of the cards that I haven't seen in other versions of Munchkin.

Maybe they are into buying old furniture and refinishing them.
My wife wants a perfect 1971 F100 pickup because her father that passed away when she was 10 owned one. He was a lineman for the power company.
You can never tell but as a whole pickups are really useful vehicles and not all the uses involve messing up the paint.

The guys at MS are professional engineers--they may have different philosophies or coding styles or project priorities than you do, but they're not slowing things down in order to make you buy the next product. You're much more likely to run into that with a local guy or a disreputable company.

This is the funniest thing I've read all day.

Of course the engineers are professionals. Management, on the other hand, often aren't. Microsoft's management is legendary for its willingness to be evil, even to itself.

Not in line with any of SpaceX's launch sites, I think. You could probably find some suitable sites that are reachable on certain launch trajectories, but for most launches that would be a pretty huge diversion. Also, the desert may be clear but the coastlines are generally not, and - at least for the first launches - I think the goal was to avoid having the first stage do its boostback burn towards *anything* inhabited, even if it was expected to fly over the inhabited region a few miles up. That's just a guess though.
