Why should have there been a suit?
Did Mercedes and Porsche do anything to stigmatize Honda? No? See, that's why.

So I personally like knowing if my messages with someone are end to end encrypted.
I agree. But that's why I use Threema or whatsapp and not some text messages on steroids contraption.
Isn't that the downsides of SMS and IRC combined?
Only if it would be guaranteed that the sensor fails into the "seat occupied" state and never gives "seat empty" when not. That would lead to exactly the same situation where a single accidental press of the seat button would jam the pilot into the steering.
An occupancy detection deactivating this feature when the seat is occupied, or when the pilot in this seat is in control of the AP, would be a really good place to start.
That would just add another point of failure.
Mechanical security (button cover that works without getting stuck in the open position) or an additional release button that requires two hands to actually activate the seat motors would be simpler
OK, so the drug legalization failed because people didn't accept the new offers for help as much as if would have been required, but WHY were the offers refused?
Here's a question for anyone who thinks IQ is a numeric measure of "intelligence":
What is intelligence and what does it mean for one person to be more intelligent than another?
It's the ability to get a highscore in an IQ-Test. And it means that you are doing good in whatever 5 (plusminus) fields are tested in your IQ-Test. Usually language, math, memory, logic, spatial thinking.
Will this in any way have an influence on your life, career, happiness or karma? Only if you are somehow building them on language, math, memory, logic, spatial thinking, which of course you could do. Which is possible e.g. by picking a career that requires those.
Yes, it's a good start to give a rough estimate of ones mental capabilities, but it's not helping the slightest if you are a jerk.
Coal and nuclear powerplants are immune to EMP? Electricity in the grid is effected differently by EMP based on what pumped the electrons into the wire?
So what happens when they run out is someone else's problem so don't care.
Nucular. The word is Nu-cular
Not directly linked. When demand for electricity rises because of Bitcoin mining and A/C, then you plain and simple need MORE electricity.
Yes, managing the grid is more difficult with variable sources, but far from impossible. (Demand from crypto mining e.g. could be matched to the variable production) It's a solved problem, so there is no reason when new power generation needs to be build, to not have that renewable.
Biggest problem with solar or wind is not having them.
So if the government says slavery is illegal, all wages and salaries have to by paid from government funds?
Alright, I'm trying to figure out WTF stuff people are trying to take on flights with them.
Are people trying to carry half their homes with them to destination?
Well, I can't blame them for trying to max out the carry-on policies as airlines are actively discouraging checking a bag with high fees and long waiting time for drop of and retrieval. (ok, second is mostly the airport, but having a checked bag included or not is their decision.
I'd ban wheels. If it has wheels, it's not CARRY on.
Yes. Thank you. So stealing a car is always "Grand" as there are no cars that are in the price range of what you would probably shoplift.
OK, first, as a non-American: What is "grand" about grand theft auto and compared to that - what is small theft auto? Isn't it that you either steal a car or you don't?
And then: how did he try to steal it? Do those cars have any actual control that you could try to override (short circuit) or take any action that could actually lead to taking over control? If not, what action would qualify to be seen as trying to take over control of the car?
From that summary I can't see what happened besides a guy entering a vehicle that's part of public transport and refusing to leave. That's unallowed entry, squatting, obstruction of traffic and probably a small bunch from sitting on a drivers seat under various influence and littering.
Well, maybe he had the idea of stealing the car, but what action towards that goal could you take? Do those cars have any of the devices (door and ignition lock, steering wheel) that are usually needed to steal a car?
Somebody ought to cross ball point pens with coat hangers so that the pens will multiply instead of disappear.
