  • If that's what it's going to take to spare us from those awful Evangelical Christians, then you know that's where we're headed.

Evangelical Christians aren't the problem, and they're not a symptom of the problem.

They're victims too, and being badly used by the Right.

Before this is done, mark my words, the tea party rank and file and the evangelicals and minorities and the left are going to find out how much they have in common and who the enemy really is. You're already seeing the financial elite running from the same tea party that they embraced a few years ago. When this is done, you will be making a choice.

What you think is a m

      • John Adams [wikiquote.org]:

        While our country remains untainted with the principles and manners which are now producing desolation in so many parts of the world;
while she continues sincere, and incapable of insidious and impious policy, we shall have the strongest reason to rejoice in the local destination assigned us by Providence.
But should the people of America once become capable of that deep simulation towards one another, and towards foreign nations,
which assumes the language of justice and moderation, while it is

        • Shorter Smitty, ad fucking infinitum: Screw your talk about the here and now, here's some dead fart with a pithy rejoinder. Give of myself? Never!
          • Oh, come on, Fort Meade: you know darn good and well whom I've served. You're welcome.
            • ...you know darn good and well whom I've served.

              But do you??

              • Well, there is always the question of whether I know Christ enough, to which the answer under the sun must be 'no'.
My military record isn't too complicated, and the oath to support and defend the Constitution clear. Or are you going to go all damn_registrars [slashdot.org] on me, and tell me I don't know what my tongue is doing?
                • Or are you going to go all damn_registrars on me, and tell me I don't know what my tongue is doing?

Well, that is the part you play on Slashdot.

The Question is not whether you know Christ enough. It is whether you serve Christ or Empire. You cannot serve both...

                  • Anyone telling you he knows Christ enough is having you on, or worse.
                    • The question is irrelevant. The proper one is who you serve.

                    • The question is highly relevant. No matter what your circumstance, you're only going to serve a finite amount of time on Earth. What you're doing here under the sun has major impact upon what comes after, as well as how you serve out the days of your vanity.
                    • What you're doing here under the sun has major impact upon what comes after...

Yes, that's the belief... You can have a great season and still not make the playoffs.

    • Hey, man!
Oh leave me alone you know
      Hey, man!

      Hey, man!
