Marxist Hacker 42's Journal: The Sexual Revolution Jumps the Shark

Three stories caught my eye this week, and a fourth hidden story was found because of the other three.

Apparently, homosexuals with the help of religious zealots have gained a new level of equality this week, with Lesbians in Florida now able to be charged with statutory rape under a rather odd rape law that that calls statutory rape "lewd or lascivious battery on child". I think that means seduction is now rape. And speaking of seduction being rape, while discussing this case, I had cause to look up The age of consent in Massachusetts, where I leanred that there too, seduction = statutory rape, but ONLY if the person under the age of 18 is "chaste". Elsewhere in Massachusetts law, apparently, is a stricter version which is about sexual penetration and only applies to girls younger than 16. So if you are a slut, you can't cry rape in Massachusetts.
 
This all jives in with the story from Elizabeth Smart on how overzealous Christian sex ed led her into a polygamous marriage with her kidnapper. I think the same people who wrote that Mormon sex ed curriculum wrote the Massachusetts law on age of consent.
 
And finally, just to bring it back around to homosexuality the Department of Justice now requires employees to have some pro-gay paraphanilia in their workspace- J. Edgar Hoover and his closet full of dresses would be so proud!

By story above, here is what I truly think:
1. Charging an 18 year old girl with statutory rape of her 15 year old girlfriend is a great thing- it's a new step in gay equality. Having said that, the idea that seduction=rape is ridiculous.
2. Likewise with the Massachusetts law that ties consent to previous behavior. We need less discrimination, not more, to make headway.

"close in age couples" in most states means less than three months difference, not three years difference. We now know the human brain doesn't stop developing for nearly twenty five years after birth, and there is a HUGE cognitive difference in understanding between a fifteen year old and an eighteen year old.

You both got way too much FOX on the brain. I watch them and CNN occasionally. Tragic what they pass for 'news' these days. More tragic to see people take it seriously and actually believe that trash. This hysteria you all are under is truly tremendous. I'm seeing movies rated PG-13 for 'intense perilous sequences'. Are you saying you can't see what is right in front of your face (and notice, not a single one of those news sources was FOX!).

The one that was most ironic, was the group of gays who attacked Holy Redeemer in San Francisco over Prop 8- that church runs an AIDS hospice.

I use FOX as the generic term for all Hysterical American Media, kinda like Kleenex for facial tissue... doesn't really matter. You're watching either paid actors or crazy people. The real treat of civil war is coming from people who fear the loss of their privileged status.

Ya know, there's less outlandish (and way more fun) conspiracies to glom onto. No reason to wander the wastelands when there's better hunting elsewhere.
