Yes, Zone Alarm works well as a firewall. It may also be a good idea to disable your Internet connection when it is not needed. It may also be a good idea NOT to jump on the bandwagon here and get into XP just yet. My eXPerience with MS OS's is to wait atleast one year before upgrading so they can iron out some crutial bugs...
