I'm 56, have been married for 34 years, have four children, all adults. I'm a professional software engineer of ~35 years, currently employed by Applied Intuition where I work on software-defined vehicle security. My specialties are cryptography, security, networking, embedded systems and OO. I used to be a cop in the USAF Reserves, spent two years living in southern Mexico as a Mormon missionary and have traveled extensively (excessively?) inside and outside the country, to nearly every region of the world. For fun I write software, read and write fiction, camp, hike, water-ski, hunt, shoot, SCUBA dive and snowboard. I use Debian Linux almost exclusively. Politically, I'm mostly Libertarian. I'm a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment, am a certified Utah Concealed Firearm Permit instructor and carry a firearm myself most of the time.
