During the day Germany is a net exporter of electricity, mostly thanks due to renewables. Yes, we still need more storage, which especially on large scale is not nearly enough, but newly built homes in most communities have to have PV and thanks to cheap batteries can store significant amounts of electricity for the night. This reduces for example the electricity requirements from private households.
France is already running into thermal issues with its nuclear reactors, and it's only June. No idea what it will look like in the next two months.
Germany STILL doesn't have a solution for its nuclear waste, and almost 50% of its environmental spending is consumed by nuclear waste storage (https://www.bundestag.de/presse/hib/kurzmeldungen-1015392). So why is it a good idea that Germany should have nuclear power again?
