Living in a Islamo-Fascist semi dictatorship where deep-package-inspection is considered totally usual, I wonder why third World countries weren't included in such offers.
I've been on Slashdot for 28 years and not once was I ever offered moderation on any post.
I don't know which idiots thought these systems were a good idea but I think they are worst development since the Pinto introduced an integrated detonator switch into the bumper.
It appears you are only capable of seeing things from a personal perspective. Let me educate you on WHY adding computers was and continues to be such a huge 'positive' impact:
The computer guys figured out 'DRM'. This feature allows the manufacturer to more fully control the entire car. What I mean by that is that there are not really ANY aftermarket stereos anymore. Additionally there are more and more parts that can only be provided by the manufacturer. Many of those parts are designed to have a short lifetime. Taken together, what all of this means is that the manufacturer now has a steady income in relation to repairing vehicles. Or, in other words, it is wildly profitable to abuse your customers with locked in parts replacement... but, there is an additional benefit, the cost to build the car is cheaper than with purely mechanical components but they can charge more because it is "more complicated".
In other words, it is profitable. The reason you can't see that is because you see it from your own perspective: Why would you want to fuck over anyone? You would be an honest merchant; therefore, you do not see how being sneaky and slimy will increase your profits.
Let them fight.
The issue is that with the proper set of prompts, the entire copyrighted work can be coaxed from the AI, which is distribution. Even more problematic is that numerous prompts can evince portions of the copyrighted work, portions large enough to qualify as copyright infringement.
If the AI kept it to themselves, they could train on as much copyrighted work as they want... but then, they would not be commercially available.
You can train the AI that you use on anything you want, copyrighted or not. An AI that is to be used commercially can not be trained on copyrighted works because the AI regurgitates portions, or all, of that copyrighted material.
Granted, Taylor Swift sounds like someone set a cat on fire, but I don't think she regularly causes fatal wrecks.
Occasionally, maybe.
Their argument is "because Democrats".
No, their argument is "because Democrat bias".
I don't want my tax money going to politicized institutions, period. I don't want my tax money supporting one side *or* the other, government support should be politically neutral.
The airwaves are a public resource, the government is supposed to manage that resource for the public good.
"One sided" is not the public good. About half the country is conservative, there used to be rules about political bias, it was abolished in 1987, and this has led to the sorry state of affairs we have now.
MSM is unending, incessant propaganda. Rage bait intended to persuade rather than inform.
If it's not going to use the public resource for the public good, then the MSM shouldn't be using that public resource.
(Of note: Fox news is an internet/cable channel, and does not require a broadcast license.)
The dumb sonofabitch WOULD NOT back down.
His system had obviously accused the wrong man, but the machine "doesn't make mistakes".
The current state of "AI" is primitive and terrible.
They lie, they cheat, they take the easy way out, even if it's wrong.
People are going to be killed by shitty, fake "AI".
"Personally liable?"
Good luck with that, you sweet, summer child.
Incorporation is why he isn't "personally liable."
Guess what? If I happen to use a particular sequence of words, I get called out for using AI when I don't even know what the trigger words are! (I mention this because this type of thing happens to me a lot where I say a particular sequence of words and it triggers people in a way unknown to me previously)
In general, there are a lot of good and bad things.
(lol, CAPTCHA was 'flawed', same as your reasoning)
that you can't get out in 2 hours or less
That would be a neat trick with 50 TB of storage.
I was supposed to do this in my spare time, worked out to 10-20 hours a week.
Are you some kind of charity? That's paid work, unquestionably.
Well, then there's that Toy Story 2 complete data loss and extremely lucky recovery.
I understand that refererence.
