Casio has had some great calculators out there for many years now. If you want an inexpensive programmable they are great. Cheaper or similar to TI, but generally better featured. I like them for basic engineering calculations &c.

It's not usually very hard to disable capslock, then remap it to Hyper or Super instead which at least can be bound to hotkeys. I always do this (linux). Replacing it with another modifier key in hardware would be welcome imo.
