Journal mcgrew's Journal: Limited Friends 10
When I was posting under sm62704, I didn't put anyone in "friends" or "foes", but I had a lot of fans. When I got my older "mcgrew" account back I added all the fans to its "friends" list. I still haven't foed anyone, and I'm not likely to.
When 2008 changed into 2009, I started weeding out my friends list to those who were in the mcgrew fans list. So far I got to about the "L"s.
When someone friends me, I automatically friend them back - until the other day, when the slashdot message center informed me that Qzukk (229616) had made me his friend.
So I clicked on the name to friend him back, and was informed that
You have over 200 friends and foes at the moment. This puts you over our limit of 200 relationships that we allow. At this point you may only remove relationships with users.
So do you want to remove your relationship with Qzukk?
Well DUH, the damned thing wouldn't let me friend him to begin with!
This limit on friends and foes seems to be a recent development, since I've been paring my friends list down, taking care of the Ms and Ns yesterday.
So today someone else has friended me, (Freaek (11909) or rytier (175186)) and I still can't friend back! I now have three fans I can't add to my friends list.
This is worse than the 120 character sigs!

Ah, that explains why I still can't add friends after deleting a bunch of them; my subscription ran out yesterday.

Apparently. maybe after I get the non-fan friends off the list there will be room to add some more.

I ran into the limit of 200 foes almost a year ago on the account I was using then. I'm saving it mostly for libertarians and Randroids this time round :)

Mark your extra friends there, and have the messages sent by email.

I finished paring the "friends" list down to fans only, and was able to add the missing (plus two more who added me to their friends list today).
