Deliverance country ? Depends how pretty your mouth is and how convincingly you squeal The safest state from violent crime in the USA is NH. It has the least gun control of any US state. No permits to buy or carry. In fact prior to Texas relaxing our gun laws in 2021 NH had more gun freedom than Texas ( Iâ(TM)m ashamed to say)

The 1% number sounds right when you realize that we have the same inequality levels as Mexico. The USA âoeshouldâ have a higher violent crime rate than we do. But youâ(TM)re assuming all defensive gun uses prevent shootings. A very large number of crimes are committed without guns or weapons at all. Youâ(TM)re also ignoring the detergence an armed population provides. Survey data from convicts has shown being shot by a victim is scarier to them than arrest.

Actually the number of assaults with guns is much lower than the number of defensive gun uses. Regardless of which study you use DGUs out number gun homicides and even non fatal gun assaults. But the question isnâ(TM)t âoedo guns save more lives than they take?â The question is âoewould X law save lives and what would the cost be âoe and the answer is usually no and too much

The idea of a collective 2a right didnâ(TM)t exist until the late 19th/ early 20th century. Or at least Iâ(TM)ve seen no writing expressing the collective right theory earlier than that. The idea of 2a as an individual right dates back to the founding generation as expressed by numerous published writings and court cases.

Auto loading guns existed before the founding. And multi shot reloading firearms ( revolvers ) existed since the late 1400s The founders wouldnâ(TM)t be all that shocked at modern ar15s, aside from how short and light they are. They would also probably find the plastic furniture plain. The founders would be most impressed by modern ammunition. Thatâ(TM)s the big change. Smokeless powder and cased ammo .

If we had to use âoe disposable âoe 3d printed guns that only cost a few dollars , nobody would care about using corrosive primers. Corrosive primers are easier to make than the non corrosive kind. We could also switch to electric ignition of the propellant. I think some of the gun printing community are looking at this option for people in countries that donâ(TM)t respect gu rights , since ammo is harder to get there As far as brass ? Why ? We could switch to polymer cased ammo. Federal is already making some.

You need to read the data. 66% of those âoe gun deaths âoe are suicides. The suicide rate in the USA is not out of line with other western countries. We have a higher âoegun suicide âoe rate because guns are available and suicide by gun is a cultural âoenormâ for suicide among men. If we could eliminate all guns ( with a magic wand for example ) the suicide rate would not decrease long term. We might see a decrease for a couple of years but the non gun rate would eventually increase and the rate would revert to the mean.
