Apple is bsd Unix and has a complete set of Unix tools. Apple knows there customers needs probably better than any maker and you never were going to be one.
The whole point of this is it's inexpensive. Ic you desire more power it's not for you
There's no phone in this model

Since slashdot canâ(TM)t handle utf-8 characters properly, Iâ(TM)m reposting this.
There is a vocal group in San Francisco that supports widespread demolition and replacement of existing neighborhoods with glass high rises. Many of these supporters are being played by developers who frame this approach as a solution to homelessness and low income housing. In practice, new construction at current costs per square foot cannot produce truly affordable housing, so this rationale is misleading.
One mechanism being used is zoning reform that reclassifies certain bus stops as equivalent to mass transit hubs. By redefining and effectively shrinking what qualifies as a bus stop, more locations are labeled major, which then triggers higher density development allowances across large parts of the city.
I completely agree with you.
There is a strong contingent of uninformed people in SF who want to tear down the entire city and build glass towers. (They are being played by developers who claim that this is to solve homelessness and low income housing. But itâ(TM)s not possible to have new construction that is also affordable housing. The cost per square foot is too high. So itâ(TM)s all a lie.) One way they are doing that is by passing zoning laws which claim that major bus stops are the same as mass transit. By shrinking bus stops, more of them become âmajorâ(TM).
Apple never announced that they cancelled production. What actually happened is that you believed a rumor and failed to do due diligence.
How to undo a lot of Appleâ(TM)s mistakes:
Settings > Display > Liquid glass > "Tinted".
Accessibility > Motion > Reduce Motion
Phone > top right menu > Classic
The reality is more nuanced. The tech is there... but Apple hasn't delivered a balanced system. Its incredibly advanced and will matured into a much better selling product once they bring things like weight and cost down.
There is no solid evidence that manufacturing was shut down. You are believing what some guy wants you to think.
Exactly. People are upset about affordability and will overlook value and quality. That said, Apple made a few strange decisions... it shouldn't have a front facing screen. Electronics should be in the battery pack, not on the face. Material selection should prioritize weight savings, the battery should be wearable without accessories, it needs an USB-C thunderbolt port by default. All straightforward fixes for a company like apple.
Actually, the Cybertruck outsold a lot of other EVs combined.
Option 1
Chevrolet Blazer EV ~20,800
Nissan Leaf ~10,000 (approx historical)
Kia EV6 ~8,000 (approx)
Total ~38,800
Option 2
Rivian R1T ~15,000
Nissan Leaf ~10,000
Smaller EVs (e.g. Kia EV6 + Hyundai Kona EV) ~14,000
Total ~39,000
Not defending Cybertruck, Tesla, or Musk... but the facts... "Tesla sold 38,965 Cybertruck pickup trucks in 2024, according to estimates from Cox Automotive. In its first full year on sale, the Cybertruck dunked on the electric version of the famed Ford F-150. It ran circles around the Chevrolet Silverado EV. It trounced the Rivian R1T, too. It was the best-selling electric pickup in the U.S., and the fifth best-selling battery-powered model overall."
This is sloppy, lazy thinking. The Apple Vision Pro is one of, if not the most advanced consumer technologies ever released. Just because it’s not affordable doesn’t mean it’s not a fantastic value. You get a full movie theater experience in your home (or airplane seat, etc.). You get a gigantic, crisp display for your laptop and phone. Those two things are worth thousands. Now ply me with your too heavy/proprietary OS argument.
Quitting nicotine can be so hard on your body that it can cause the genetic expression of latent diseases like Crohn's. Its also more addictive than heroin. Not to mention mouth and jaw cancer. Its a terrible idea to start.
You are hinting at the nothing to hide position which states that law enforcement should be an all knowing panopticon because the honest have nothing to hide. But given the rise of authoritarianism worldwide, you need to be more vigilant than ever to prevent government from surveilling you.
