I was a big fan of Fred Saberhagen's Berserker series back in early 90s. I also started to play VGA Planets PBEM game about the same time and my very first game was for the Robots (copycat Cylons from the Battlestar Galactica series).

Personally, I considered BG's Cylons a wimpy parody on the mighty, merciless and darn smart Berserkers, so I adopted The Berserkers as a name for my robo-race and The Last Berserker as my personal salutation.

Needless to say, I stick with my alias for about 10 years and still like it [:)]
