They have to have subscriptions so that they can continue to pay ridiculous salaries so developers can make needless changes.
The is how IP perpetuates "do it once and get paid forever"

I learned most of what I know today from FAQs and how-to documents
The WHY of changes are usually documented.
I learned VERY little from was RFCs and specs.
I can point to a widely disseminated piece of code that very faithfully implements an RFC very carefully specified behavior... And in even slightly complex environments causes issues, proving "broken by design" is very real.
Right.
BEVs are like Gucci.
Honda isn't seen to be Gucci.
No one wants a Honda BEV.
Charging time, even for the kewl new Chinese BEVs make them... Difficult to justify. Unless your time isn't constrained (read "you're rich").
When ARE taking off around the world, is hybrids of various kinds. FCEV hybrids, etc.
The most interesting that I've seen is by Mazda. They call it a plug hybrid, but it's a BEV with a small wankel engine (with re-engineered edge seals) that ONLY charges the batteries while you drive.
Private client info is exactly what they're selling... because it's NOT private client info. It's private company info the bankrupt company owns.
Sorry gang. If you worked there and generated documents that identify you, those are in the same class.
The bankruptcy trustee is bound to turn whatever they can into cash to settle the debts.
It's a set of rules I don't like, but until the controls of government can be yanked back from the oligarchs the masses worship, those rules aren't gonna change.
And if you work for some company and bet the stock is gonna pay you like gold-in-them-thar-hills, you're supporting those rules.
It's all fun and games until that happens
"Mathew Boderick" almost touched off a global thermonuclear war... And walked away.
"Mr Robot" was fighting the good fight... As if THAT really happens.
The fact is, investigating your own gear is a-ok. stuff that belongs to others... It get's dark gray really fast. Make bucks at it... It's not gray at all. Pitch black.
And then I turned off my ad blocker
Voila! It works
I have... On three different PCs
slash has rendered firefox partially inoperative... At least MY installation no longer properly updates stuff on slash.

The food industry has been fighting what was revealed by the book "The Big Fat Surprise: Why Butter, Meat and Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet"
It details how bad science rose and so did obesity.
Finance is now looking at it... They're trimmed all the other fat.
