Gyrogeerloose was born back in the middle of the last century, when television was black & white (with 13 channels), telephone calls were made by twirling a perforated disk with one's forefinger and computers used vacuum tubes and filled entire buildings.
None the less, he was a fairly early adapter who bought his first personal computer in the early Eighties, a period when 48KB of RAM was considered a lot, and learned to program it in BASIC. He hasn't written any code beyond HTML since selling that computer to finance the parts to build an IBM-PC clone which he never actually completed, having contracted Mac Fever. He also had a Unix shell dial-up Internet access account in the days before the World Wide Web was invented.
He still misses FTP.
