Comment My very own HDD (Score 1) 200

I shared a family computer starting with an old Zenith eZ-PC. At tax time we were never allowed to use the PC since the computer room was dad's domain and you did not want to breath on anything in that room at that time. Thats right the computer had its own room. I didn't but the computer did. Once we had gone through a few upgrades and I still couldn't afford my own computer I went our and bought a set of removable hard drive chassis and my own hard drive. Still had to share the rest of the hardware but the data was mine.

Comment Always on the road (Score 1) 540

I left my last job because I actually wanted to see my family more than 4 days a month. Granted the pay and benefits were great. I worked for two years for a company that bounced us all over the country at the drop of a hat and we would be shipped out to all manner of new builds/prison retrofits with little to no knowledge about what we needed to do when we got there or even what tools we would need to complete the work. So on my lunch breaks I started cold calling businesses in my home town to try and get something that would let me sleep in my own bed.

Submission + - Lernstift Digital Pen Vibrates to Indicate Bad Spelling, Grammar and Penmanship (gizmag.com)

Zothecula writes: Use digital technology long enough and you start to become dependent upon it for such mundane tasks as spell checking. That means when you pick up a garden variety ballpoint pen you’re back in dictionary and “I before E except after C” territory. Like LiveScribe, the creators of the Lernstift digital pen hope to bring handwriting into the 21st century by having the pen vibrate to indicate when the writer makes spelling and grammatical errors or exhibits poor penmanship.

I've always thought that creationism and evolution could co-exist... WAIT! Don't start typing yet and just keep reading. What is time is not constant and linear to an omniscient being? What if instead time is something closer to the inverse of an exponential function. In other words time becomes less compressed as He/She/It moves through it. This gives us the ability to say that the Christian/Hebrew creation story matches the proof of evolution that we have uncovered. The Bible also says that we were created in God's image so would it not stand to reason that even thought He/She/It would like to tinker with different thinks and be curious (I understand what omniscient means) about different outcomes and permutations (multiverse theory).
