Journal blinder's Journal: For Smoochy 13

this journal is for smoochy teh bear.

i am bored. oh sure i have work to do. this is my last week here at this place. then its off to other clients. the company i work for has lots of clients, and gets new ones all the time. in fact, the company i work for has been turning away work because we just don't have the people to service the client.

*yawn*

i'm tired. holy crap what a busy weekend it was. a very productive and *good* weekend... yay busy! yay being productive! i like busy weekends. sometimes busy weekends are exactly what you need. why? i don't really know, i guess its part of that weird work ethic that was cultivated in me growing up. yeah... i'm in favor of do-nothing weekends too. really i am. no really!

i'm bored. i think i said that earlier. i posted two other journals today. that's a lot for me. i haven't been journaling much. i've been busy. life. life keeps my time filled. oh yeah, that and work. work is different than life. why? i don't know! it just happens to be that way... take it up with who ever you would take that kind of question up with.

i went out to lunch this afternoon with my friend james. baja fresh. *yawn* its very nice here today. sunny. warm.

did i mention i'm bored? short timer's disease.

*yawn*

i need to stop yawning. smoochy? was this like what you had in mind? i dunno... your challenge (was it even a challenge? are you asking for a challenge????) has compelled me to go on and on about NOTHING. have i really gone on and on?

perhaps.

it is quiet here. is everyone napping? is it nap time? can i take a nap? please? i want to curl up and go to sleep.

wake me up when its time to go home, mm'kay? thanks :)

  • There has to be a new skill worth acquiring (he said, browsing /. for the bazillionth time that day).
  • Did somebody say nap time? Man - I am all over that.
  • What kinda skills? Are they hiring?
  • Do you ever feel like someone is looking over your shoulder...all day long? Well, I do. Our cube hell is set up so that we normally sit with our backs to each other. So, I can't really see what the guy across from me is doing unless I turn in my chair. Anyway, the guy across from is always busy coding...coding..coding...coding. He has two monitors in his station..one on each side of his desk. So, more than half of his day is spent facing my desk. So, he gets a birdseye view of me doing whatever the hell it
    • hmmm... okay here's what you do. you remember building forts as a kid right?

well... over the next few weeks, slowly start stockpiling materials... like 3-ring binders, books... tape (lots of tape) and other things you think you might need.

then every other day or so... start constructing that wall of yours. if you do so slowly, over a span of weeks... no one will really notice. just one day someone will say "um, was this always here?"

and you'll respond, "uh yeah! what are you crazy or something?"

      there...
    • Yeah. Our desks are L-shaped, so I have my monitor on the section that doesn't face the cube entry. Then, I have it angled as far toward the back of my cube as I can manage while still being able to look at it head on. And then I keep looking over my shoulder, and keep an article handy so as to appear to be reading.

But it's not my fault! I have nothing to do!

On Monday, I filled a wash bottle with DI water. Twice. The second time, it was actually half-full, but I wanted to do something- anything!

      Not

So...You're saying you found the webcam?

  • Grey and cloudy, with a hefty breeze and the threat of rain this evening. Slow workday here right now. We put three projects out the door this morning, so that is good, but I move on now to the next big pushing project.

Staring at my current project trying to rectify overland flow issues caused by the architect wanting to place a big hill in the middle of the project, ignoring one of the most important rules of civil engineering. Water flows down hill, even though some people think "art" and "concept" o th
  • What are all these other people doing replying in a JE FOR ME???? I don't get that shit man. What's the deal???

Didn't you check "No one but SmOochY (SmOochY comments cannot be disabled once enabled)"????

Nice. Now I'm all flustered and bile-filled. HRMF.
