Submission + - Vala, a new programming language (gnome.org)
andersbergh writes: "Vala is an object-oriented language similar to C#, but compiles to C and uses the GObject type system. The compiler has been self-hosting since May 2006, and the language is improving rapidly. Applications and libraries written in Vala, when compiled, are just the same as if they had been written in C — generated C headers can be used in other applications, exposing a regular GObject-style API."
