I cannot speak for the integrity or review process of Slashdot or its editors, as I don't have any facts or documentation on the entire process. Unless you are willing to claim firsthand knowledge on said process, and supply facts/documentation, your assertions aren't very reliable. Reliable sources have been reporting news, events, etc. in much quicker time than this review has been accepted, for well over a decade... its a sign of the times and technology available. Moreover, is it that difficult to concede that perhaps my review might be noteworthy to some, even if *you* don't think so? The overwhelming consensus based on replies to the published version, at the moment, is yes... it is noteworthy. It won't cure cancer, AIDS or any other large scale issues... but it is at least noteworthy, and therefore *notable*.

True but I think his point is that the identity of the victim can have a huge impact on motive, good and bad, and motive does have impact on the punishment of the crime.

i.e. In retrospect, killing Hitler would be considered a good thing by many and the motive justifiable.

It's an extreme, yes, but just because someone mentions Hitler it doesn't mean it's automatically reductio ad Hitlerum.

True. I'm bullish on Ford because they've finally adopted a business strategy of selling higher-margin, higher-quality products worthy of their first world cost structure. It might take a decade for people to catch on, but IMO there's a good chance Ford will become the American VW, if not the American Honda.

GM ... I'm not sure if they've divorced themselves from the idea of "sell the most cars, make the most profits", despite the fact that "sell at a loss, make it up on volume" put them in bankruptcy court.

The PS3 actually works amazingly well with Windows 7 media sharing ability, why someone would want to go to such lengths as to use a 3rd party app just blows me away. Microsoft sure went all out when it comes to the media sharing in Win7, its flawless IMO, there's no slowdowns, refreshing the media library and adding new files takes seconds in WMP12. Pretty much every format that the PS3 supports will play back with out any issues...I use mkv2vob for my mkv's and for anything that isn't an mkv and does not happen to play on the PS3, i just use RipBot264 and make a h264 MP4 file. I have found that 3rd party apps only use up ram, slow shit down and sometimes don't work properly at all. Win7+WMP12 seem to be perfect for sharing media to the PS3 and the 360 (i own both consoles).

What I meant was: If a shape can contain more information bits than bits necessary to represent it then we could of course use the same trick digitally by coding Y bits of information but as Z number of log2(x)-tuples of 0s and 1s. That is, instead of having Y 0s and 1s we have Z*log2(x) 0s and 1s.
