Rogue Pat writes: Reuters reports that superyacht built for Steve Jobs has been impounded in Amsterdam because of a dispute over an unpaid bill to designer Philippe Starck.

Starck has received 6 million euros out of a 9 million euro commission for his work and is now seeking to recover the rest of what he was owed.


Submission + - Microsoft bids $45 billion for Yahoo (

Rogue Pat writes: CNN Money reports that Microsoft has offered an unsolicited bid of $45 billion for Yahoo in cash and stocks. The offer corresponds to $31 a share, or 62% above Thursday's closing price.

The offer also disclosed that one year ago, another Microsoft-Yahoo deal was attempted, but that offer was declined by Yahoo.

Rogue Pat writes: From the Reuters press article: "Microsoft ended three years of resistance on Monday and finally agreed to comply with a landmark 2004 antitrust decision by the European Commission."

From other news sources: Competitors will be able to buy interface protocols for 10.000 Euro to make their software work better with Windows. Moreover, Microsoft won't appeal the 500 million Euro fine any further.
