Journal Otter's Journal: Resolutions completed... 11

I pulled out the list I made last year, read it over and added a new set on the other side of the paper. I actually made significant progress on most of the 2006 list and the new things were mostly building on that progress. The one downer was discovering that what I thought was my new biggest thing to straighten out was on my 2006 list, as well. Check back in a year to see whether I got serious about it this time.

As for tonight -- it's my first New Year's Eve in the US in a few years, and I'd like to come up with *something* but my wife looks like she's headed towards bed already. I thought of having a midnight barbecue, but that might be a tough sell...

Happy New Year to all!!!

  • She's headed to bed and you can't think of anything to DO to celebrate?!

I think you must be comparing notes with STB-exHubby.

You ever stop to consider that your husband must find you absolutely repulsive? I don't blame the guy, of course. I'm just surprised you don't realize it.
      • You have a very good point, sweetheart. We must think alike! You can see my full response here [slashdot.org].

Have a truly lovely day, darling!

      • I personally think- based on the other evidence in Bethannie's journal- is he's protecting a secret desire to not have any more children. Thus he's not interested in sex on a subconscious level- because sex leads to children. He doesn't really want a divorce- but wants to admit he doesn't want any more children even less, so she gets her "easy" divorce. She's put so much emphasis on sex as a way to build intimacy that she doesn't realize there are other ways to build intimacy.
        • He's vasectomized.
          • In that case, what would be the point? There are other ways of being intimate, and there are other ways of building trust, and certainly there are more ways for a couple with children to have fun. Sex is for procreation- if there's no chance of procreation, there ain't no reason to waste energy on the pursuit.

(This isn't why I defriended you. I meant to defriend you a while back when you were blathering on about the superiority of Catholicism and I just can't take seriously a person who believes as infallible a religion that took until 1997 to admit that the earth revolves around the sun.)

More because the act of sex is the central act of HUMAN EVOLUTION- and without doing it properly the species will go extinct. But you're not smart enough to understand that I suppose.

Hey, I fixed a stuck Portage upgrade on my Gentoo system before dragging her out of bed at a quarter to midnight to barbecue in the snow. Let no one say I'm not an attentive husband!

Pound for pound, the amoeba is the most vicious animal on earth.
