I could care less about the CPU and GPU power. There are people who game on their phones playing fairly sophisticated stuff and they want high frame rates because they play multiplayer. You can play stuff like fortnite and player unknown battlegrounds if you're really want to and somehow the kids have learned how to play those sort of games with touch controls.

The reason I want the newer chipset is it comes with the newer modem and the newer modem does a much better job maintaining signal.

I want good battery life because I have shitty signal in my area and that means the modem is overworked and runs the battery down.

So I have a real concrete and valid reason for wanting the better phone. If you took the modem from the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 or above and put it in a slower chipset I'd cheerfully go for that. My old Media tech phone had plenty of horsepower but the modem was crap and I couldn't send or receive text messages without going outside. People couldn't hear me on calls either

It's just a PR charm offensive and we know it we're not this fucking stupid.

The one thing that this midterm proved is that you can't piss on me and tell me it's raining. Money in politics has its limit.

Republicans used billionaire Epstein class cash to outspend Democrats 4 to 1. It was probably worth it because they kept the GOP from losing all 35 of those Senate seats. If they hadn't spent those billions and if they hadn't done all the voter suppression then I suspect the Democrats would have enough votes to impeach and convict and remove Trump and then Vance and then put their own guy in the White House.

Even with all that the Democrats still have enough votes to pass reconciliation bills and dare Trump to veto them. So they will be able to restore funding to the affordable Care act and Medicaid and Medicare.

I had a dad of a buddy of mine who is obviously on Medicare because I'm old and if one of my buddies is got a living father he's old as fuck and the dad here had some knee surgery and had to pay 5K out of pocket even though he's got Medicare and some benefits from a pension because he's old enough that pensions were thing.

The point is the Republicans gutted Medicare and the old people seems to have noticed. Not so much that they would vote Democrat of course perish the thought but it looks like they stayed home at least. And honestly if you're so fucking clueless that you vote Republican in 2026 staying home is a good step in the right direction and I applaud you for it.

Because of overwhelming nepotism in their education system. I've been wondering for years why the engineers coming from India were so mediocre or frankly terrible and that explained it. The way you get jobs is by getting into certain schools and the way you get into certain schools is by being born too certain families or having certain friends.

That means you don't need a lot of ability because nepotism carries you. It's just important to be a nepo baby. Your actual skills are completely irrelevant.

I bring it up because it doesn't surprise me that their engineers would want and need $10,000 a month of AI to do coding they ought to be able to do on their own. They don't actually know how to do their jobs.

Eventually when more of these data centers come online we might see the costs drop for businesses so that they can start replacing actual engineers who could do the work with incompetent boobs who can't string together to sentences. You will of course need a secondary AI to write the prompts but if you're willing to impoverish the entire planet it's doable.

And the Epstein class would do anything to avoid paying wages. They hate you and they hate the fact that they have to pay you anything. It doesn't matter if AI costs more at least in the long term freedom from employees and consumers is worth any price

Lately all the affordable phones either have that crummy mediatek chipset or an old Snapdragon 7, and I want at least the 8th gen 3 for the newer modem.

My OnePlus 13r works just fine but I'm hoping it doesn't die for at least two or three years. Buddy of mine had to replace his pixel 7A because the motherboard busted when the battery went. He just barely bought a 15r before they were off the market but now the only one I know of is the red magic. Samsung has a phone but the battery life stinks.

They want to clear this stuff off the table while the Republicans are in charge so they can do it for as little money as possible.

So you've got something here where the damage is likely in the trillions and they're going to hand out a few billion after making tens of billions in profit.

I don't think Democrats would hold them much more accountable but they probably would squeeze a few more rules and regulations out of them. It's like how Microsoft settled their antitrust under a Republican president.

I think the Democrats are trying to save us from drowning but at the same time I think that if they start to go down with us because we won't stop panicking then well, they don't have the strength of character to go down with us.

I'm not sure I can blame them for that. At some point we have got to stop being in a constant state of mild or extreme terror and making bad decisions because of it. The problem is once you're in that state it's really hard to calm down and get out of it which is why so many people drown...

This is a big deal because those three seats control and oversee voting.

Now Democrats have a bad habit of refusing to wield power but the orange pedophile has gone after individual Democrats with the doj recently so they're starting to actually fear for their individual lives.

So I think that the Texas Democrats will actually wield that power for a change and this is going to make it really hard for the Republicans to cheat the way they need to cheat to win elections.

That's why I say Texas has flipped blue. The Democrats could potentially wussy out and let it flip back Red by allowing the Republican party to suppress their voters again like they've been doing for the last 50 years but I don't think they're going to do that this time because they are genuinely fearing for their lives and for good reason

Losing the governorship is going to hurt. The Republicans need the governorship to do a lot of the voter suppression that has kept the state red. The reason Paxton was able to get a shot at a senate seat is because he's the one that delivered Texas for Trump in 2016 by pushing voter suppression to new heights.

And the Democrats did all this despite the Republicans out spending them 4 to 1 and Republicans shutting down polling locations with their usual tricks like sending broken voting machines or not sending supplies needed to run the stations. Also dear God Trump did everything he could to make it hard to vote by mail slowing down the post office. If your mail has been coming late you can thank Trump. And that's before we talk about all the other nasty little tricks done to make it hard to vote by mail at the county level

You can easily look up and find the mail and voting is safe fair and reliable. Republicans oppose it because mail-in voting breaks one of their primary voter suppression tactics which is to make it difficult to vote on election Day. I can give you a whole day off if it takes 7 or 8 hours to vote because you have to drive all over town looking for a working voting machine and then wait in line for 8 hours then it doesn't matter if I gave you the whole fucking day off. Never mind that most people are so exhausted and overworked they're not going to stand in line for 8 hours on a day off they're going to go home and try and recover enough that they are body can do an extra shift this week and maybe make rent.

I suspect you know all this whether you like it or not. If you didn't you know it now.

So I say you're a fascist because you've given your heart and your brain over to the fascists. Even if you don't really agree with them you will still do what they tell you to do when they tell you to do it.

If for some reason you don't like that then you need to stop doing what they tell you to do. They are right now telling you to oppose male and voting. Are you going to keep doing it?
