Journal Journal: I think I touched a delicate subject....

Well... after posting this comment I kinda feel that I stepped on some toes... I mean, it's really hard to satisfy all people, but there were some good points raised, so I proposed a different set of options... That means tying the Canadians in with the Americans, and oh boy, do they loathe that! Actually, they _BOTH_ do, but that's beside my point =). There was - of course - some more complaining about lack of options, but that was exactly my point: having the CowboyNeal option for the people that feel left out, including a good reason for being left out (forgetting about Canadians, Mexicans and the *humble apology* Penguins)
Someone else mentioned in the thread that most of the people are from the US, but as bziman states, this poll (Where do you live) clearly indicates that Europe is not lagging too far behind the US, and IIRC this poll is over a year old, meaning things might have changed. (So don't use those numbers for anything important, because like CmdrTaco suggests you're probably insane if you do). I think that's my final word on it, unless someone wants to reply to this. I guess a thing like this is a story without an ending, but hey, that's the fun of it!

Journal Journal: Tribute

Last wednesday was a very sad day for me. My family and I paid our last respects to our beloved grandmother. She was a very special person, happy with even the smallest things in life. Truly the best person I've ever known, the kindness she brought into our lives is just incredible. She passed away at a respectable age of 93, fortunately for her and us without suffering a long and painful ending. I will always remember her optimism and the happy times we spend with her, like her last birthday just 2 weeks before her death.

Her day of burial was remarkable, it was a perfect spring day, sunny, quiet, just the way she liked it best. All in all, despite the sadness, I must say it was a very beautiful day, and I am proud to have a small piece of her living on inside of me. May she remain in our thoughts forever.

Journal Journal: Introducing in the purple corner....

Heh... 1st Post! Finally I can do this without getting modded down :)
It seems that my .sig has gotten some attention lately, and I will be explaining why I gave my cat this silly name...
She's called Peuk which is Dutch for "cigarette butt". When I got her I couldn't think of a good name, so I thought that I could think better if I would light up a 'butt and my gf said that we should call her that so there you go. That's all there is to it.

A bit more about me you might ask? Well, I'm not _that_ interesting, but hey, here we go:

gender: male

age: currently 30

interests: networking, operating systems, classic cars, movies, car-hifi

marital status: single (plz apply)

mental state of mind: fuzzy

BTW: if you read all this say "Blink" out loud. It will make you feel better. No really. Try it. And if your significant other asks WTF you're doing: don't tell!!! It's meant to be a conspiracy for geeks only! Grmbl, I'm out... This doesn't even make sense to me anymore - so this means it does quite accurately reflect my personality I guess... :P
