It's entirely possible that AI will soon be able independently to prove all of known mathematics, and then go on to resolve all the outstanding open problems. And then maybe it will start proposing new, interesting conjectures.

Do we really want this to happen? There are so few genuine pleasures in human life. Do we really need to build machines to take away yet another one, the esoteric pleasure of discovering a new mathematical proof?

Look what happened to the human race when machines came on the scene to do our physical labor. Prior to that time, people had the strength of giants. Now, almost everyone is, by comparison, a wimp. Do we really want the same kind of degeneracy to happen to our intellects?

A lof of us have attitude control issues.

JFK initiated the "space race" with his call to send a man (i.e., an American) to the moon and safely return him. When it finally happened in 1969, his arch-enemy Nixon was president, so it is Nixon's name which is on the commemorative plaque sitting on the moon.

"Because they buy licenses in bulk, they get a sizeable discount". This makes no sense whatever. Generally, when you buy something "in bulk" you may get a discount because the per-unit ancillary costs (packaging, S&H. labeling, accounting, etc) are less. How does any of this apply to licensing, which is indistinguishable from selling air?

One of the more frustrating things about working in the windoze context is the difficulty, or often impossibility, of automating tasks. Their design "philosophy", such as it is (or isn't) is that the user is an integral part of the computer system. It's damn hard to get done anything that involves a lengthy sequence of steps without sitting in front of the screen throughout the whole process, just so you can click "yes" at certain points.

As I have often said, one of the Microsoft tactics is to waste as much of the end-user's time as possible.

Not so. Thunderbird is WAAAAY better that Outlook (AKA Look Out!). In fact even if Outlook worked as designed and intended (which it doesn't, much of the time) it would still be a piece of crap because that very design is poorly done.
