You know, I just F-ing hate even posting on here any more. Yesterday, I made a comment about iMacs: "Design at a premium". The specs on them suck and they cost too much. It got modded as Troll down to 0 from 3. It is absolutely worthless to post a dissenting opinion any more, and even neutral comments are generally responded to with such bile that it's not worth my time to read the replies.

OK, so a flamebait mod that I made was rated as unfair. It's not the first, and it certainly won't be the last. It just irritates me to no end that just because a post follows the popular position then /. readers won't consider it flamebait.

In this particular post, the poster was ranting about how elected officials suck, etc., etc. It was the usual anti-government crap that gets spewed all the time around here. This particular post had only tangential relevance to the subject and was clearly just some sort of anti-government diatribe. So, I modded it as flamebait, which it clearly was.

Then, it got meta-moderated as unfair. I don't post much on /. any more because it has really ceased to be a forum for intelligent discussion. People seem to just spew whatever the /. line is on a particular issue and everyone else just sits around and nods.
