And one of the criteria for General Public Interest is "has become famous for some reason and is widely talked about/referenced in non local media or the 'film community' or is now of general historic interest for some reason." By virtue of it being discussed on Slashdot, it now meets that requirement.
(And will probably also meet the "has been downloaded in 'large' numbers from some website(s)" criteria as well, due to Slashdot.)
I don't see why it shouldn't be included since even porn is allowed in the database: Dirty Bob's Xcellent Adventures 35 (Yes, that is actually the title)
Granted, it has someone in it that has done regular movies as well, they still have it in the database (along with many other of his movies)
The problem with that logic is that the rich person's income is coming from being hired by the corporation. The corporation hires the workers. The workers' pay does not come out of the CEO's pocket.
It was a good sensationalist headline, but the one they are trying to undermine isn't the founder of Microsoft. It's actually his father.
If they each made $1.1 million dollars per year, then assuming they are married, their tax would be $39,000.
If married, the first $400k is untaxed, the income between $400k and $1m is at 5% (600,000 x
Break-even in one year would be at $1,777,777.77 annual income (in other words, about 50% more income)
I can't comment on whether or not your firewire mixer would work under Ubuntu natively (though you'd be surprised to find that more devices work natively in Linux than Windows) since I have no idea what hardware it is, but I do feel it prudent to make the point that there is actually a version of Ubuntu specifically FOR recording studio work: http://ubuntustudio.org/
Granted, you are already accustomed to doing things your way, and it really wouldn't be advisable to switch simply for the sake of switching. I'm sure there are some features of Audition that you like that may not be offered by an open-source program like Audacity (though from my understanding most of the features desired from this type of software is supplied via VST plugins, which are supported in Audition, Audacity, and most other digital audio workstation software packages)
As an example (though not related to your scenario) of something that works out of the box in Ubuntu and NOT AT ALL in Windows, I plugged a LG VX-9800 cell phone (aka Verizon Communicator), which is not even a smartphone (though it has a qwerty keyboard for texting) into my computer to charge. On Windows, it would just charge (though I could download a driver to let software configure the phone). On Linux, it asked me what cell phone carrier it was using and configured it for internet access (which did, in fact, work). This wasn't even an option on Windows at all.
It's not just about searching online for the question... you also need to be able to prevent people from asking their friends for help
The problem here is that, this behavior actually SHOULD be encouraged (but not over-encouraged). In the real world, if you don't know the answer, you SHOULD ask your colleagues instead of just guessing. Your "education" isn't as much about teaching you the information as it is teaching you how to learn. Perhaps the proper way to grade a test, would be to give only half credit on any problem that the student needed help on (with no extra penalty should they get it wrong anyway). If the student has absolutely no grasp on the subject matter, a score of 50% with all correct answers (that he had to ask about) isn't going to do him a whole lot of good.
Collusion would be if eBay and PayPal were separate companies, but that is not the case.
PayPal is an eBay company and is made up of three leading online payment services: the PayPal global payment service, the Payflow Gateway and Bill Me Later.
Would you be saying the same thing if it were the phone company disconnecting their phone service?
If they had an autodialer calling numbers to blast a recording of a bunch of hate speech, you are damn right I would want the phone company to disconnect their service.
I'll even post this as myself rather than as AC.
Actually, the law basically states that if you are in the left lane and there is someone behind you, you are required to move over if it is safe to do so.
From http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/publications/rules_of_the_road/rr_chap04.html:
When driving on an interstate highway or full access controlled freeway, a person may not drive in the left lane, except when passing another vehicle. Exceptions include when no other vehicle is directly behind the vehicle being driven in the left lane, when traffic conditions/congestion make it impractical to drive in the right lane, when weather conditions make it necessary to use the left lane, when there is an obstruction or hazard in the right lane, or when the driver is changing lanes to yield to emergency or construction vehicles.
Or at the very least sign out of Google before you go to www.hotunderagehorserape.com (god I hope that's not a real site).
Under Rule #35, you are now legally required to create it.
Maybe not Monster, but Denon already does.

I'll concede that Xcode is free, but developing for Windows Mobile devices does not require you to pay anything (It's just easier to do if you buy Visual Studio)
Of course Adobe is going to blame Apple. Are they going to blame Linus for "refusing to allow them to write the flash player properly" in Linux? It's not like that code is private. Why does the Linux flash player suck so much compared to the Windows one if that is the case?
This is amusing. I use both Windows and Linux (Ubuntu 10.4), and I find that Flash runs 10x BETTER on Linux than it does on Windows. On Windows, if you right-click in a flash player, the whole browser locks up. In Linux, there is no issue (and it runs faster).
The problem is that you were using a MacBook Pro. Apple refuses to allow Adobe to write the Flash player properly for OSX, so an inferior product is a result.
It's funny how Apple purports itself to be an open platform while being exceedingly hostile towards developers. Even Microsoft gives away their compilers for free (including
