Comment Blame the EU (Score 0, Troll) 91

It's worth noting that this sort of thing didn't exist for years. IMHO, government putting its thumbs on the scale caused this. Moreover, the subscription business model caused this. Government, not content to wait until there's actual commerce that can be taxed, wants to get in on the racket (hint: that's where UBI money is going to come from).

Apple "working on a solution" is like them saying that offering paid upgrades (as opposed to a subscription-based app) is "too hard". (No, it's not)

Comment Having solved all other problems... (Score 1) 200

This is what happens with runaway incompetent government. They have no ability to solve real problems and they probably have no desire to solve them because doing so takes away motivation to demand reelection votes. They know most people have a short memory and forget that the people they voted for last time didn't do what they said they were going to do. So they go after low-hanging fruit that reinforces their power knowing that the voters can't do anything to stop it. This kind of bill is particularly egregious because it literally prevents people from pointing out that the people they elected to fix things aren't doing anything worthy of reelection. What's worse is that the narcissistic supporters think that such a bill gives them power over people they don't like and it will never be used on them because they are holier-than-thou. #GFY

Yes it is. A paltry 5gig for free? That said, it's amazing what content eats up your storage space. I discovered that a Messages thread with my sister took up a whole gig of space. People don't realize that it's not just photos eating up space. And I'm sure there's a lot of crap on people's devices that they could get rid of.
