This may be true if you own, drive, and work on automotive relics from the last century. But even my 2001 Jetta required VAG-COM (yes, they actually called it that) to replace the timing belt. About all one can do with a modern car and without expensive proprietary computer systems is change the oil. And even that might bite you. Go ahead, ask me how I know not to use a top-side oil extractor on a 1997 Camry.

"a bicycle is considered a vehicle and is entitled to the use of the whole lane just as any other vehicle is"

A (one) bicycle is consider a (one) vehicle and is entitled to the use of the whole lane. Why would you think it's OK to have two or more vehicles side by side in the same lane when each one is entitled to the entirety of the lane? Would it be OK for two of those ridiculous "smart cars" to travel side by side in a single lane? Either the pedal-driven speedbump is a vehicle or it is not. No amount of spandex sophistry can make it simultaneously vehicle and non-vehicle.
